Remarks

IIT Kharagpur is one of the best engineering colleges of India.The placement in electrical branch is very impressive. Also the IIT tag helps a lot in the service sector for getting a job.Also the college highly promotes research fields and being a research enthusiast and based upon my rank in JEE ADVANCED I happily opted for the college.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course and curriculum is recently and well updated. It focuses more on practical learning whether than bookish learning. Also it includes several field trips, workshop trips, seminars, etc. Also it gives a complete industrial exposure to the students, which is very helpful. The faculties are one of the best faculties available in India. They are highly educated and very helpful. They even help in getting a student placed.

IIT Kharagpur is one of the best colleges to pursue Electrical Engineering. The placement percentage is about 95%. Major companies visiting campus are OFSS, Amazon, etc. The faculties and administration helps a lot during the placement phase of the college. Also the companies provide internships for 3 year students. The startup committee of college helps a lot if a students has an idea and wants to do a startup.

The campus life in IIT kharagpur is amazing. There are several on-campus activities going throughout the year. The college also organises couple of fests throughout the year in all the domains like sports, cultutral and technical. Apart from that students participate in inter hostel competitions. Also many students from the college participate in interIIT competitions.

Campus Life

The campus is a complete reflection of a technical college. It contains everything required in a college. The college provides almost all the sports facilities. It contains multiple cafeterias, restaurants, GYM, swimming pools, etc. It also has a huge air-conditioned library containing books worth crores. Also the campus provides a high speed WIFI working throughout the day at every corner of the campus.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
