Remarks

Since I was pretty much sure of doing engineering and was quite passionate about IITs and since I worked hard for it cleared JEE MAINS and JEE ADVANCE and so I went for this college in Kharagpur more of because I belong from Kolkata in West Bengal as well

Course Curriculum Overview

The course designed in a way that every student gets to student subject from every domain in 1st year including subjects from CSE, ECE so that students gets to know about every subject and subsequently in 2nd year moves to domain specific subjects and I guess in 3rd year we have to choose the specialization.Faculties members are extremely knowledgeable and talented. Most of them are experts in research fields

Placement and job opportunities after graduation is huge all most 90% students gets placed and MNCs like Adobe, Larsen & Tourbo, Ashok Leyland, Tata Groups

College Events

All type of events are organized from interactive seminars with prominient peoples to Hackathons and students are well prized. Recently I myself participated in making drag cars with students across IITs in india. Though didnt won anything but still got to learn a lot

Campus Life

Campus is one of the best among all the IITs and has evrything to offer from GYM to Library and Sports center a students get all of it that he had worked hard. The whole campus is WIFI facilated and classrooms and library are of international standard. Smart classrooms are there The classrooms available are all air conditioned.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Deperments with strong placement cells secure 10-15 offers per company, depending on batch size. 5. 8-10LPA Highest package offered by Leading companies and 4-5LPA Average package offered by companies. 6. 60-80% of students getting placements. i am interested in Ph.D. programs for research positions.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

Campus life at IIT KGP
