Remarks

Overall, the college is excellent for students pursuing their careers in Commerce & Accountancy as well as looking forward to complete professional courses such as C.A. ICWAI, C.S., M.B.A, Post-grad & PhD. in Commerce etc. I'd definitely recommend students to look for opportunities with this institution.

Course Curriculum Overview

The plain graduation part- I, was for 2 years and the Hons. had an additional year i.e. 3 years. The curriculum was relevant as well as fair, however not research-driven. The exposure to good teachers and well designed curriculum to fit the industry needs taught by professionals of each subject, with lots of practical insights on the skills required to excel in field, has truly made me a better professional. The industrial visits were most beneficial to our batch of 200 students.

Placement Experience

4.5

For the placement drive, companies like: Exide, Siemens, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Spencers, ITC, Pantaloons, and many more came to our campus. The general steps were: Direct interview with the candidates in the campus as well as the evaluation of general academic proficiency to shortlist the applicants. 50% students are placed from this campus every year. The institution provided a few tips to excel our interview. Apart from that we had motivational speeches from our lecturers.

College Events

4

Annual Fest in which all the local colleges were invited to participate in various events like stage drama, sports, musical performances, dance, etc. Seminars organised every month on several subjects in which guests were invited to share their real-world experience with the students. Over a 1000 students participated in these events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure was very feasible. My entire program fee was INR 200 per month and my mode of payment was through bank transfer. Although payment in cash was acceptable as well. No additional or hidden charges were associated in order to secure an admission. The college has a great amount of transparency in the fee- breakdown.

Fees and Financial Aid

I didn't opt for any form of scholarship or education loan. The college indeed provided scholarships to students. The eligibility criteria ranged from academic performance, economic condition and reservation category. The scholarship awarded was INR 1,200 Per annum.

Campus Life

The gender ratio for male to female students was 7:3. Parties were formed individually without the college involvement/intervention. The college comprised of Indian students only. In terms of diversity, the college fell short, with international students being extremely rare. The college as well as the students were not gender-biased or racist in any way. There has never been a religious conflict among the students or lecturers, nor were the applicants restricted from admission on the basis of their sexual orientation. There was a Student Union which dealt with the expression of the voice of students as well as the betterment of the college in terms of infrastructure and ranking. The college or the students did not discriminate between the rich and the less fortunate, being a government institution which is well reputed, such acts were rendered intolerable.

Hostel Facilities

I did opt for hostel accommodation. The hostel rooms were shared i.e. 4 students in each room. The seats were very limited and preference was given on the basis of factors like distance from hometown as well as the economic condition of the candidate.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni from my college are all very well placed at very senior positions across top-ranking global companies. The seniors were very supportive and were always willing to help us out during our finals with notes and other paraphernalia. They had been very helpful in guiding us towards our careers.

Admission

I got admission in this college on the basis of the marks I obtained in my Class XII Board Exam. The first 200 students were selected on the basis of the merit list prepared i.e. Percentage marks obtained in the Grade 12 Board Exam. The admission process starts in the month of June, right after the Board Results are declared i.e. begins by the first week of June and ends by July. Classes start by the month of August. I choose this institution for it was the best government funded one.

Faculty

5

The numbers of lecturers was about 40, all the professors aged between 45-50, with both M.Com and PhD. holders. All were very well qualified in their field with 10-15 years of teaching experience along with exposure to various industries. The lectures were as clear as they could be.

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
