Course Curriculum Overview
Like I said, its been two decades that I graduated but in our times too it was relevant course curriculum and post our grad I believe it was all transformed. Ours was Shakespeare literature and classic 19th-19th century like Charles Dickens and Emily Bronte - Wuthering Heights etc.
Placement Experience
NONE during 2000 year but some procured internships with their independent contacts and now with time it may have evolved.
College Events
Yearly festival, Music concerts - Parikrama was our rock band and which was so good and they are still so popular. We never had online or social media platforms so we have thoroughly enjoyed college life without posting anything online. Memories are so fond and imprinted on my heart.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Not expensive at all as was comparable to the university degrees. NOT anything more than course fees. Since it is been two decades but I am sure it may have changed in past few years as I hear from my juniors. But during our time too other colleges had similar fee structure.
Fees and Financial Aid
No I was taken in on merit - on my scores in 10+2, so no loan nor scholarship as it was a college under grad degree.
Campus Life
Gender diversity in my course was skewed more on females with only 4 males but overall college it was more skewed on males. ECA were great with music society called "musoc" and dramatics called "players". Both are so well regarded and Naseeruddin Shah, Shakti Kapoor and even Amitabh Bachan are alums of my college and that society.
Hostel Facilities
Did not avail as I was a day scholar being from Delhi but have attended many concerts along with fellow hostler friends who lived and availed given they were outstation candidates. It was very basic though in our times and must have improved over time.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes. though none college led but a great KMC community exists and we are in touch though never really attended an event.
Admission
I always wanted to take up english hons because I had command over language and wished to be a journalist so was very clear about the course and which colleges had best faculty for english so while securing admission in two other leading colleges as named below, i decided to still go for Eng H at Kirori mal college and I am glad I did that.
Faculty
I had secured admission in Hansraj and Daulat Ram colleges but wanted to always switch to KMC because of superb faculty of english like Badri Raina, Kewal Arora to name the senior professors. So proud to be associated to them till this day. HOD for english at hansraj college was himself so convinced that I should join KM for the course and I did.
