Remarks

College management was quite orthodox and from time to time we had some restrictions like no lan in a hostel, in/out restriction on the main gate. However, I would still wish I could go back there and relive those four years again.

Entrance Preview

IIT JEE 2006 AIR 1236. I was interested in Electrical Engineering and I applied in all of the IIT's. Based on my rank I was allotted IIT Roorkee.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Core course curriculum was almost the same as in every other engineering college. However we had many optional subjects from which we could choose based on our aptitude and liking.

Internships Opportunities

I was offered an internship with Tata Motors Pune for 6 weeks in 2009. In 2009 due to recession, many companies did not come. Mainly Students went for foreign universities with scholarships like DAAD

Placement Experience

3.5

In our batch there was 83 student. 2 people did not graduate in 2010. All the other people were placed in companies like: JP Morgan Chase, Deloitte, IBIBO, Reliance, L&T, PSUs like REC, Coal India, HAL, SAIL, BHEL, etc

College Events

3.5

There were mainly 2 events Thomso -cultural event - Budget goes in crores - Also participation is very high from all the neighboring colleges Cognizant - technical event - participation is quite good. Students from many colleges come to present their papers and ideas and it has quite a good reputation.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure back then was very nominal. Now all the IITs have increased their fees. Still, it is quite feasible.

Fees and Financial Aid

Also, they have many scholarship programs like means cum merit scholarship for students with annual family income 3 lacs. Apart from these scholarships are offered to students belonging to SC/ST categories. Loan is never a problem in IITs.

Campus Life

4.5

Gender ratio was very low. There were only 36 girls in our batch of 570 students. However campus life is very good. There were very good sports facilities, hobbies clubs and computer labs. Many student societies were there. I never saw any intolerance towards any one because of his/her gender, ethnicity, race, religion, sexual orientation, politics and economic status.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The hostel facility in IITs is quite good. That is the most memorable experience of college. We had to share 2 seater room in 1st year and a single occupancy room 2nd year onwards. Mess food is always an issue but then where is not.

Alumni/Alumna

We have a very big Alumni network and we always help each other in any way possible. Especially when it comes to referral and guidance seniors are quite helpful.

Exam Structure

We had labs 3-4 days a week. We had 2 midterm exams and one end term exam every semester. Midterm exams used to last 2 days only- as many as 8 subjects End term exams - generally a week-long affair. Apart from these some faculty used to take quizzes and assignments.

Faculty

4

The faculty was quite experienced and helpful too. They had quite impressive qualifications and they were dedicated to their job. Also, many of them have good industry and academic connections and that is very helpful to students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is highly relevant, focusing on practical knowledge for real-world prep, though more hands-on application and updated content would strengthen it. Exams occur 6 times yearly; they are tough but fair for the course.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because of its affordability and the teaching quality of this college is good . They helps in choosing the real life application based projects . Teaching methods are impressive but they don't provide notes . We have make notes by attending class regularly. Frequency and timings of exams are of 3 hrs. For each subject . Difficulty level is moderate and students can prepare it well in the gap days also .
