Review of DIT University, 3rd year student

The college is in a very good location, a lot of places to go to around the college. The hostels can be better than they currently are. The admission process starts in June and the year starts in August around the 10th. The college was referred to me by my relatives.

I chose this course because since everything is being digitised there is going to be a huge requirement of people who can keep all the data safe, I believe this course will help me be on of the professionals who would contribute to safekeeping of digital data. Each class has about 50 students and there are different teachers for every subject. Most of the faculty has done their PhD and most of them know what they're talking about. Exams happen twice a semester, mid semester and end semester in addition to class tests and assignments. One can pass most subjects if they are attentive in class.

I'm not sure about my plans after my degree, I would most probably go for higher studies but I might just take a placement and go for higher studies on my own money

The fees is a bit too high as it increases with every semester and the criteria for scholarship is also very selective

The annual fest 'Youthopia' is held in November over a course of three days and a sports week known as 'Sphurti' which happens in march. Almost all the books suggested by the teachers are available in the library and a lot more are available as eBooks from the library website. The classrooms have projectors which most teachers use. There are many clubs in the college of almost every type for example literature, tech, music, debate etc

There is choice for selecting the room ie you can opt for a sharing room or a single room. The students of first year, however, are given a triple sharing room by default in order to help them settle I believe. The food is all vegetarian and could've been better but it's manageable as there are food joints at walking distance from the college gate, there's also a cafeteria inside the campus but it's a bit overpriced. The hostel admission process takes place during admission for first year and on a first come first serve basis for all other years
