Remarks

It's one of the best college offering bcom course not only in Kolkata but in India. The college faculty really encourages you a lot and helps everyone not only academically but also in life. The college can really act as a milestone and add charms to your CV. Being one of the most reputed and oldest college in India, it really helps a lot. The college guides you really good and teaches you to enjoy your college life, and at the same time managing to have good grades as well. Altogether it's good experience where you can get a taste of both college life and good academic life.

Course Curriculum Overview

Faculty members are nice and supporting. But we were not given any industrial exposure as it was not a part of our curriculum. The academic structure was nice and good. The subject combination and the total division of subjects according to the semester is nice and helps students a lot to understand their subjects

Placement Experience

Many reputed companies comes to our college for campus placement and offers diverse jobs. But the salary remains really low.

College Events

The college life,Social life is quite good and you will really get exposure to different types of students who comes from different cultures, places, town. The social life in here in quite diverse. You will get a hell lot of experience which will really make you successfully not only in career but also in life.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarship have been availed but I didn't take up the opportunity as I was not eligible. Loans are not required as the fees is minimal and the west bengal govt finances the college.

Campus Life

We have nice infrastructure with computer labs, library. Our college also organises annual sports day and the union organises many cultural fest named the quest which is held generally in October, socials, held in March and Saraswati Puja, which is accompanied by a a feast.

Hostel Facilities

I have not opted for hostel as I am an inhabitant of Kolkata itself. And the college does not have its own hostel but it can provide hostel facility from the cu campus. It's a reputed college and I really think it's a loop hole as many students come from far and they have to make their own arrangements for living their.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Deperments with strong placement cells secure 10-15 offers per company, depending on batch size. 5. 8-10LPA Highest package offered by Leading companies and 4-5LPA Average package offered by companies. 6. 60-80% of students getting placements. i am interested in Ph.D. programs for research positions.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

Goenka college of commerce and business administration is the second best college in Kolkata and the best college under Calcutta University. Hence it has a brand value. I got admission offers in SXUK, Jaipuria THK Jain and Bhawanipur college, But this was the best option I had. The admission process is through your boards marks. Proud to be Goenkan

I got admission in Aliah University which is in New Town Kolkata I got rank 12. I applied in Shri Shikshathan College also and got admission in first list. I rejected both the colleges as Aliah University though it is a reputed college but the placement committee is not as good as Goenka College of commerce. I applied for BBA + MBA integrated program in Aliah University but I wanted to pursue BCom honours in accountancy and finance thus I rejected Aliah University. Shri shikshayatan college on the other hand is another reputed college in which I applied for bcom honours in accountancy and finance I rejected Shri shikshayatan college as no doubt Goenka College is way more better than Shree shikshayatan and Shri shikshayatan is comparatively very much expensive in comparison with goenka. Shri shikshayatan takes around 250000 tuition fee on the other hand Goenka College charges only 4090 rs for 4 years....Read More
