Remarks

Kolkata is near to my home city(Dhanbad) so travelling would be easy in case of an emergency and it was the best college i could get with my rank in wbjee. The college also provided overall development of a student with clubs and competitions going on through out the year. The campus was good.

Course Curriculum Overview

Starting from my batch, my college got the autonomous status and the course was redefined. The faculty added a lott of higher level papers and removed some which were not relevant. I can thus say its better than previous.

Class Size: 80Course Fees: INR 393400 per year

I am just a 3rd year student and knows a little about the placement cell and how it operates throughout the year.

College Events

There are a lot of clubs covering fields from coding, robotics, dancing, art, singing, sports, etc. They are all very active. There a lot of activities through out the year. Seniors and the leader of the group are very friendly

Campus Life

My college has three building. Two of them are quite good althought one of them is a bit old. The technical infrastructure is also quite old. The softwares are old and take forever to load. Although the canteen is quite good.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

1. Students generally get eligible for campus placements from the 3rd semester of the M.Sc. course. 2. Deperments like Biotechnology,Botany,Zoology have placement support. 3. Companies coming to campus like TCS,Wipro,Deloitte,Biocon,Pfizer. 4. Deperments with strong placement cells secure 10-15 offers per company, depending on batch size. 5. 8-10LPA Highest package offered by Leading companies and 4-5LPA Average package offered by companies. 6. 60-80% of students getting placements. i am interested in Ph.D. programs for research positions.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
