Remarks
The recognition of the Biotechnology department of this college was very well known since the GATE Topper, 2019 of Biotechnology had scored full marks. She was an inspiration and the entire department had a great name because of the faculty members. The thing I liked most apart from my department is that, the campus is extremely huge and student-friendly. There are multiple areas for pursuing sports, a well functional stationary shop which has everything a student needs, a centrally air conditioned library and 3 canteens.
Course Curriculum Overview
My course curriculum was recently updated from the previous year(2019). The faculties who taught in the 1st year were cordial and provided well-structured notes. Students are encouraged to take up internships in hospitals near Ruby and also in IITs. Hence the industrial exposure is high.

I have opted for internships at Collegedunia (Content Writing-Rs.5000/month), Fynzo (Content Writing, Rs.3,500/month), AAIWay (Content Writing- Rs.3000/month)
Placement Experience
Companies like Nestle, Amul, TCS, TechMahindra, etc had visited our campus and 80% of the total students were placed in these companies. Alumni networking is pretty strong and there are multiple notable alumni from our batch. Chiranjit Mukherjee who is a Bio-technologist is a part of the NASA team for the Mars Mission. College Events
We have an annual fest known as Eclecia which is a pretty mega-event of Kolkata and students of nearly all colleges are invited to this fest. We also have seminars, webinars (During lockdown), and multiple programs during all the occasions like Durga Puja, Teacher's Day, etc. The participation is huge and they mostly take place in the Vivekananda Hall of the Central Block.
Campus Life
Sport facilities are great with multiple large grounds for practice. The library is large with multiple racks pertaining to all the subjects offered and even more. Storybooks are also available along with published science journals and magazines. A digital library is also available for conducting research on computers.
