Remarks
Passion for Mathematical Sciences. The Indian Statistical Institute is one of the oldest and most acclaimed Institutions in the Country. The course also doesn't involve studying elective courses which are not related to mathematics.
Course Curriculum Overview
The Course Curriculum is quite tedious and doesn't leave one with much free time. But if you are a ardent mathematics lover like me, you won't face much problems. The course content is much more updated than any other Statistics course in this country. All faculties are extremely learned people and are the brains in this country.
Placement Experience
Most of the students stay after their Bachelor's for their Master's. After The Master's course is completed, students are offered placements. MNCs like Goldmann Sachs have visited our campus for this purpose. A large fraction of our students go for Ph.d in foreign Universities. Alumni network mainly consists of eminent professors in the top Institutes of the country (IITs, IISc, ISI) and also in foreign Universities. Since the batch strength is pretty small, all those who apply for a placement get placed. 100% placement is an unwritten rule of ISI.
College Events
Campus life is pretty good. The total strength of our Institute doesn't exceed 400 and compared to other colleges it's pretty small. But the environment inside is quite warm. Not much events are held in our Institute. Our annual fest "Integration" takes place every year in the last week of January. It's much smaller than those at the IITs but we all enjoy it.
Campus Life
Library and the wifi services are quite good. Labs are very well equipped just like any other Central Government Institution. Sports facilities are not that good. There is only one football field inside the campus. A lot of improvement has to be done in this aspect.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are pretty well equipped. Wifi and LAN connections are stable and fast. We have a canteen in the ground floor and a TV room as well. Single rooms with attached baths are allotted to students. When there is a lack of rooms in the hostel, students are asked to pair up but that is temporary.
