Remarks

This college is the main campus of JIS group.The infrastructure and placement of this college is quite good. My brother got placed in a reputed MNC from this college. The administration is very good.

Course Curriculum Overview

As our group is autonomous under MAKAUT, we have our own syllabus structure which is quite good. But I think it should be rearranged in the basis of requirements in Industrial aspects. Department provides a good Industrial exposure. Maximum faculties are very good and humble and give their best to make us good in every field.

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 415000 per year

Placement Experience

Placement and job opportunities are there but mainly focused on the IT field. Core companies don't come for the on campus drive here. Otherwise lots of good MNCs come here every year like Capgemini, Mindtree, Mphasis etc. One can get various opportunities in the sales and marketing field also.

College Events

Campus life is not so interesting. We just get one chance to showcase our talent which is in Tech fest. Otherwise we don't have big cultural festivals for all the students. Small events take place sometime but everyone is not eligible to participate in the functions.

Campus Life

We have digital class rooms where we can use the smart board and projectors. We have good equipments in lab and library is quite good. Sports facilities are also there but common rooms are not always available. WiFi networks are unavailable somewhere.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Deperments with strong placement cells secure 10-15 offers per company, depending on batch size. 5. 8-10LPA Highest package offered by Leading companies and 4-5LPA Average package offered by companies. 6. 60-80% of students getting placements. i am interested in Ph.D. programs for research positions.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

I choose this college because this college was good in among all the average colleges in West Bengal leaving the top colleges. The placement is also good. So for all this reason I choose this college. I wanted to go for heritage but my name didn't came in cutoff.
