Remarks
Firstly, my college is that it is situated right in the IT hub of the city. So you get wonderful exposure to the life around you. Secondly, the college has several activities/fests going on throughout the year powered by the technical team "Geekonix" including robotics, competitive coding and hackathons, cultural team "Anakhronos". Techno also has the best entrepreneurship cell in the whole of East India except IIT and NIT. The best part the college has a wonderful alumni base and placements are also increasing every year. If you are looking to grab a job in IT sector and want to develop and polish your skills simultaneously, Techno would be a good choice.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course syllabus is that of MAKAUT. Yes, there was enough industrial exposure. I'm just in 2nd year now. But within the past one year even within the pandemic lockdown I had no complaints on the industrial exposure. There were more than 50+ webiners organized including every field in the past one year. The faculties are a mixture of good and bad. But they try their best to teach in class.
Internships Opportunities
Yes I have applied for work from home internships both in the first year of college and got selected in both. Ine for content writing which was paid. And another for Front end web development from an international company which I'm currently doing, this is unpaid. The first one I got through Internshala and the web development one my boss contacted me through LinkedIn and I got hired after he tested my skills , I was told to make a demo website. So yes, the TISL brand name works for pocketing internships.
Placement Experience
In departments like Cse and IT maximum placements take place almost around 90%, in streams like ECE it is like 85% and in streams like EE and EIE it is around 75% , ME, FT,CE is around 55-65%. But if you have skills that the job market requires you will definitely get placed.
College Events
The college has several activities/fests going on throughout the year powered by the technical team "Geekonix" including robotics, competitive coding and hackathons, cultural team "Anakhronos", which is the 2nd largest cultural fest after IIT Kharagpur. Techno also has the best entrepreneurship cell (IIC) which is a MHRD government initiative, in the whole of East India except IIT and NIT. Webiners and workshops are a part of weekly routines organized by mainly the tech club and IIC, where we meet noteworthy people. Overall, if you want a fun-life and simultaneously prepare yourself for job and future ahead, go for it.
Campus Life
Infrastructure isn't that good compared to other good collges in Kolkata. It has a small library, wi-fi speed isn't that high. The computer labs are good. And their is a field where all the departmental and all college fests and events are carried out. And a small canteen
