This is world famous Engineering College Kharagpur has the largest campus in Asia You will get a strong community base . You will get any kind of help from Kgpian . You will find everywhere the Kgpian in the world So IIT is the Indian Brand

Course Curriculum Overview

If you want to do p.hd then it is helpful . But i don't think it is appropriate for job in industrial sector . And this is too hard to complete total syllabus due to timing issue ! one thing you will know what is time and discipline

College Events

Spring fest - This is going on for 3 days fest Friday evening to Sunday evening You may say that this is the fest of other colleges. Most of the IITians are taking rest on weekend they are very tired ! But I have really enjoyed the activity like street play singing ! dancing Street play Ktj- Business fest But most of the students are now going to apply credit card without salary slip

Fees and Financial Aid

Everything is available . MCM - depends on your family income (60k) and after 1st year you should get more than 8 cgpa for general candidate and for sc, st may be 6 there are many more available . Loan - SBI, PNB and many others bank are available

Campus Life

fully wifi enable campus , one of the best library more than 10 lakhs books are available 1gbps LAN speed sports , you will find 3-4 play ground in every hostels . You may heard the name of Spring fest , ktj this the fest in our college.

Hostel Facilities

RK Hall of Residence - Food quality is excellent. Hostel room is quite ok. You will get a single room here! For booking a seat in the hostel they will charge per year ?_1000. Hostel establishment fees per year 23k. Cycle repair shop is available in every hostel.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
