Remarks
This was the college my rank at WBJEE could offer best in Electrical Engineering. Faculty and Labs are above average and Fests and Events are the specialty of this college. Campus size isn't big and Placements are not good for Core Branches at all.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum followed is proposed by MAKAUT which is under AICTE, and whose syllabus is eternally 10 years behind. However the college is not to blame. Industrial Exposure is adequate and Workshops on various disciplines start right away from 1st Year. Pace of completion of syllabus is exactly how fast it should be, but is not competitive. Teachers do invest their energy in academics and try to keep it on track. Faculties are a mixture of good and bad teachers, and overall, its above average, thanks to the very few very good teachers.
Placement Experience
I'm a second year so I don't have much idea on this but I've heard companies like TCS, Cognizant, Infosys, Wipro and Amazon do recruit students but primarily from CSE and IT branches. Vacancies are not enough, so is the placement. However, there are a startups in numbers and few of them are quite known. The Entrepreneurship Cell and the Placement cell just manage to do their work.
College Events
Fests and Activities are the speciality of this college. Events are organised very well, all through the year and the participation is numerous as well. The Tech Fest is a grand one and keeps getting better each year. The clubs are very well organized, thanks to the competent and helpful seniors.
Campus Life
Overall Infrastructure is quite good, thanks to the big library and well equipped and maintained labs. Classes are very spacious, and cleaned regularly. Toilet and Lift facilities are acceptable. Sports Facilities are above average and lacks proper management. Wifi is just for the sake of existence.
Hostel Facilities
I haven't opted for hostel because the college doesn't own it. The Hostel just has a tie up with the college and hencr isn't responsible for any issues of students. The hostel isn't good and safe as I've heard. However there are plenty of PGs and Flats of all qualities and prices, nearby and everywhere, as its Salt Lake.
