I qualified JEE MAINS 2016 with a score of 168 out of 360 along with the CBSE boards percentage of 93.2% and was eligible to take admission in NITs so I opted for NIT patna as Patna is my hometown admission process is conducted by JOSSA on an All India level i opted for Information Technology as my B.Tech branch because of demand of IT engineers in today's world.

Course structure in B-tech in first year is the same for all branches i.e. we have to study all the subjects from second year onward we focus on our branch ( Computer Science in my case) and study according to it research work is also very good in this college with admission intake for Ph.D and JRF candidates.

Yes from third year onward companies visiting for placements does give internship. Recent example is Amazon.in and Oracle which took students of third and fourth year on interns.

Placements are very good here in NIT Patna with a placement record of almost 95% in campus more than 50 companies visited with a highest package of 17 lacs per annum. Top companies like Oracle, Bluestacks, Tata Motors Hero, Samsung R&D, Amazon etc visited this year.

Many events are organised in NIT Patna main event is the annual techno-cultural fest namely Corona & Melange which is held in the month of January every year. Sports events include Intra Mural sports competition which is also held anually. Frequent events are organised by many clubs of different branches like quiz, photography, dance etc.

Fee structure is set up by Ministry of Human Resource & Development, GOI. Since it is an institute of National Importance and is funded by GOI, it is reasonably feasible by all. There is also different scholarships available for students of different category and for those candidates whose total family income is less than a particular line.

Scolarships are given by MHRD, GOI at the time of admissions. Loan is also given by NIT Patna in accordance with the branch of Allahabad Bank situated in its campus. This loan includes stationary loan, laptop & mobile expenses, etc.

Campus life is very good however the sex ratio is by far male dominant because of engineering field(less girls are involved in engineering esp. JEE). There are many extra curricular activities held. Infact for this there is a unique building namely Student Activity Center (SAC). Many competitions such as debate, singing, dance, speech, robotics, etc are organised.

However the only demerit of this college is the Mess facility though hostel accommodations are very nice with a brand new hostel just made for first year, but the food in the mess is actually very bad. Except that and a current (but temporary) problem of Wi-Fi everything else is good.

No knowledge of alumni till now (only 3 months since admission) but the seniors here are very helpful they are always willing to help juniors and are motivated towards increasing the name and fame of college.

Exams and labs do left us with a hectic schedule all day long with frequent labs and regular exams, sometimes it develops too much stress to handle. But the overall structure of exams is very good with class tests, mid-semester exams and end-semester exams along with a regular assignment of lab, it keeps all the students really busy.

Admission process is conducted by Joint Seat Allocation Authority(JOSSA) it ask candidates to fill the choices of colleges (like IITs, NITs, GFTIs) and it assigns the college to the candidate in accordance to their All India Rank in JEE Mains & Advanced after all the rounds of counselling process, finally the candidate has to go to their respective assigned institute and take admission.

Very good all the faculties are highly qualified and have their Ph.D degrees from India and abroad with a load of experience and many published journals. All the faculties are motivated in their respective fields and are always willing to help the students.
