Anonymous's Review On National Institute Of Technology - [NIT], Agartala

As being a government institution and also the NIT tag name was enough for me to pursue Computer Engineering from this institute. The placement records of NIT Agartala were also satisfactory enough to be a part of this institution. NIT Agartala was my 13th choice among the 15 preferences I've filled up. Honestly speaking i had no idea about this institute before joining there but it turned out to be one amazing experience to be a part of this institution.

The course curriculum has not been much updated and engineering is something that should be focusing on the current technologies and latest trends in the particular field. It's the same problem in most of the engineering colleges in India. Practical knowledge provided through laboratory works or experiments are very old fashioned so there's nothing new to learn. Most of the faculties are not friendly and it's been hard grasping anything taught in the lectures. No industrial exposure or such support has been provided by the institute.

I completed a virtual experience program provided by JP Morgan & Chase Co. through insidesherpa.There was no stipend in this program.

Placement opportunities are quite good in our campus for circuital branches. Many fortune companies like Samsung, Oracle, Wipro, Accenture, L&T, Capgemini, Paytm, Deloitte and many others visit our campus every year for campus recruitment drive and also provide decent packages for the students.

I didn't find the campus life much interesting as number of events and extra curricular activities were very few and with low standards. Due to many reasons the festivals got cancelled for two consecutive years. I didn't participate in most events as i didn't find them much interesting.

Our campus despite being in such a remote area has provided good facilities to the students. Sports facilities are quite good as we have a huge sports complex which is not found in most of the campuses. The main drawback of the Hostel life there was we had no WiFi or LAN access in the hostels which has always been a major issue for us as everyone knows the importance of internet these days. Library is good and built in a large space but the number of books are not enough. Lab equipments were available to every student.

The hostel infrastructure is quite good and we had double sharing room in our sophomore year that is pretty common everywhere. In second year we where shifted to a very old hostel with tin roofs as the construction of a new mega hostel was still to be finished. In our 3rd year we were allotted single rooms but other facilities like sufficient number of water purifiers and WiFi/LAN was not provided to us.
