Remarks

Location. I wasn??t allowed to go outside Calcutta. I know passouts from IMI and I had a word with them regarding placements and faculty. The reviews were better than that of other MBA colleges in Kolkata.

Course Curriculum Overview

The faculties were so helpful and so knowledgeable. I loved my finance and economics faculties. The course Syllabus is totally updated. There were lot of industrial visits that were organised.

Internships Opportunities

I got into IDBI Federal for my internship. The profile was sales and it was unpaid.

Placement Experience

Generally more of BFSI companies come to campus. More often than not profiles come for sales be it in the FMCG, BFSI or Life Insurance. Companies also come for finance and HR jobs. Till last year we had 100% placements. Till year because of Covid, we had 98% placements.

College Events

Honestly very good. I was a day scholar and I loved staying back after classes. There were so many activities organised every other day. There are so many clubs be it marketing, finance, operations etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, I got a 100% scholarship and stood second in the first year so I also received merit scholarship.

Campus Life

Very good. We had a library, computer lab, baseball ground, pool area, gym, girls common room, table tennis court, wifi that can be accessed anywhere on the campus. The library was two floors and there were hardly any book you cannot find there.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

1. Students generally get eligible for campus placements from the 3rd semester of the M.Sc. course. 2. Deperments like Biotechnology,Botany,Zoology have placement support. 3. Companies coming to campus like TCS,Wipro,Deloitte,Biocon,Pfizer. 4. Deperments with strong placement cells secure 10-15 offers per company, depending on batch size. 5. 8-10LPA Highest package offered by Leading companies and 4-5LPA Average package offered by companies. 6. 60-80% of students getting placements. i am interested in Ph.D. programs for research positions.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

Eligibility of the course PGDM is you have to be graduated with any stream because MBA colleges don't limit anyone on the basis of stream, you should appear in the entrance exams like CAT, XAT, CMAT, and NMAT. You can find the application form on the college website, application fees and application dates everything will be displayed on the website itself. yes, there are some reservations for EWS students you can directly get the 100% scholarship if you have the EWS certificate with you when the college asks you to give then you have to provide certain documents and then they proceed accordingly.
