Jadavpur university is one of the tier-1 university of the country and number one university of west bengal.It is autonomous university funded by Government of West Bengal. It ranked 5th in NIRF 2020 university ranking and 600-700 in QS world ranking 2020.Seniors in our university are very friendly with juniors.They always guide us and help us whenever we,the juniors face trouble.Seniors also encourage us to take part in various cocurricular activities.Apart from academics study we have science fest SRIJAN and cultural fest SANSKRITI organised every year where students are given opportunity to showcase their talent in singing,science, dancing etc.Professors in our college are also very friendly and their industrial and research experience help us lot in knowing about the professional world.Alumni network of our university is also strong and they sometimes help us in getting job in reputeted company. Our power engineering department is one of the best department. In our department we learn about renewable energy and its uses along with some other engineering topics required to become power plant engineer.Our department is also best for anyone who want to make their career in research field. Getting opportunity to study in Jadavpur university is tough so I would not to miss the opportunity.

Course cirriculum is as per present industrial requirement. Yes we are provided enough industrial exposure through industrial training in nearby power plants during 3rd year of our study.Faculties are very much helpful and they help us in getting projects of our choice during third-fourth year.They have best connections with industry and other universities of the world.

Company like CESC ltd,L&T,Infosys,Wipro,TCS Ninja,TCS Digital,PwC consultancy,ZS,honeywell,IOC,Goldman Sachs,HSBC,Microsoft, Adobe,Amazon,Capgemini and many more visit our campus.Some of the profiles offered are data analytics,SDE,consultants,system engineer.Jadavpur University has its own placement office with a placement officer.Two campus has its own central placement coordinator.Each department has its own placement coordinator selected by students.Campus placements start at the end of third year i.e. sixth semester and continue throughout fourth year.Almost 90 percent students gets placed during this placement season.We have strong alumni network.Many alumni are in reputated position of a reputated company.They play a major role in company visiting our university for recruitment in various post.

Univesity has its own science club JUSC,photography club JUPC,entrepreneur cell JUE-cell,innovation council and many more.Every year science fest SRIJAN is organized by JUSC in second campus of university.The fest is organized for 4 days.In these four days many events are organized like science quiz,robotic games like robosoccers etc.A grand cultural fest SANSKRITI is also organized for seven days in JU main campus.We invite seven music band in these seven days.Students also show there dancing,singing,drama and story telling talent.Every year E cell organize hackathon where students can show their technical skill.An annual literary week and MUN debate is also organized by JU literary club and debate club respectively.

Campus have first class sport facilities.JU has its own football and cricket team.ARENA is an annual sports week of JU.Departmental team contest with each other for the final trophy during this week. Wi-fi is not very good.It has large library with thousand of books and journals. Library memberships is a must.Every departments has its own various research labs in the departmental building.
