Remarks

So GBPUAT Pantnagar is 60 years old (still young) institute. Straight away coming to the Good aspects of the College include it's an infrastructure which is better than many other government Colleges plus the faculty here is good. They care for their students in some or other way. I am from the electrical department and the professors are wonderful. Hostels are old but still well maintained. Transport facility is also good like u will find a tuk-tuk ( e - riksha ) everywhere. Mess food is average. Since the university is spread in a vast area, you can roam and explore places every day. Bad aspects include some restrictions like you are not allowed to go outside the university without permission plus the entry time of some hostels is reduced at times. The admission process is different than other Colleges. You have to submit a number of documents and photocopies during admission. If someone doesn't read the instructions given on the website, the process would become too tiring.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Electrical engineering is one of the core branches and its faculty is also quite good here. Students are near about 50 in every branch. Most of the professors are qualified from the university itself like some have done their BTech, MTech or PhD from this University only. Professors help a lot in providing all the study material and teaching too is good. Two hourlies and one final exam constitute a semester and the passing % is 50% in every course.

Placement Experience

3

Since I don't know much about the placements, here's a review of a passed out senior. The placements of COT are decent Right now. I won't say very good but yes Good enough to give every student the chance to get selected in Campus placements. If you are good in studies and have the zeal to do it you will make it. There is no branch in Pantnagar for which Companies don't come for Placement. Agricultural Engineering and Mechanical Engineering Students Get the highest Packages every Year in Placements. Companies like Hero, John Deere, Mahindra&Mahindra, Escorts etc come for their Placements. Students of Computer Engineering, IT and ECE mostly end up in TCS. A few companies come for EE or They also get their chance in TCS.

Fees and Financial Aid

Since it is a government college, fees are average as compared to other BTech colleges out there. Average fees per semester are near about 50000 Scholarships are also provided to students. Financial assistance is also provided to the needy ones, which is again a good aspect of the university and administration.

Campus Life

4

Since I am a second year student I don't know much about the fests because we only enjoyed a single fest before covid. But our seniors told us about many fests which are conducted every year in our college i.e.COT like litrosphere , colloseum etc. University Library provides all the required books. Inter College, hostel as well as branch sports and cultural competitions are held every month or so. You get many opportunities in the college to enhance your talents. Robotics club , SAE ,are some tech clubs in cot.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel rooms include a bed, a study table and a wardrobe for every student. Fans are provided in each room. Charging slots and other electrical objects are in good condition. Once your admission is complete you have to register for the courses of your semester which are done online therefore it's an easy process, not so time-consuming.

The curriculum is highly relevant, focusing on practical knowledge for real-world prep, though more hands-on application and updated content would strengthen it. Exams occur 6 times yearly; they are tough but fair for the course.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because of its affordability and the teaching quality of this college is good . They helps in choosing the real life application based projects . Teaching methods are impressive but they don't provide notes . We have make notes by attending class regularly. Frequency and timings of exams are of 3 hrs. For each subject . Difficulty level is moderate and students can prepare it well in the gap days also .

I always loved coding and learning about new technologies. Also, jobs in CS/IT department are paid high. The faculty and student ratio is on the medium side. Faculties are highly qualified from IIT and top private colleges. They are very helpful and have a great pedagogy.

A very good college. There is no spoon feeding scene like that of private institute. As good ranking students are there you can have a good academic competition which will nurture your ability and groom to you be a better engineer.
