Keerthana Neigapula's Review On National Institute Of Technology - [NIT], Agartala

It's NIRF ranking as compared with thr other NIT colleges, and according to my rank, this college was preferable. the clubs are pretty good and serious and help a lot in the student Personality development process. The main reason I chose this college is because of branch. Many people have suggested and even through online, I happen to know that Mechanical Branch, the one which I'm interested is, the best among other branches in that college. All the lab equipments are available and I feel the funds that the college receive is properly used. It has an excellent campus that is almost 400 acres and very good security. All the facilities are provided in the campus itself, so there's no need to travel a long way to the city. As I'm a South Indian, I had an initial doubt of socialising in a new place where I can't use my mother tongue as a medium, but Our College has such diversity in cultures. Different cultural background people all come together and interact with other making us feel like home. There are many people from south, eastern areas, extreme north, western areas. The thing I like most about the college is absolutely the campus. It's very huge and very beautiful. The effort they have put in constructing such nice infrastructures is spellbound. Everyday we get to see wonderful views. The sunsets and sunrise are the most beautiful I have seen there. The other thing, I like about our College is that they have very good security mainly regarding the girls hostel. As many fear of sending their girl child to such place where they feel there's no proper security. But I must say, they are protective of us and follow all the rules and see that girls security comes number 1 in their list. The reason I chose mechanical engineering is because this is the mother branch of all branches. Initially I was interested in aerospace engineering, but as it is a part of mechanical engineering, I have chosen this branch so I can pursue my career in aerospace/ other wide options that mechanical engineering provides.

They have divided the syllabus and concepts in a considerable way where we don't feel the pressure that it is too much but they are providing knowledge at a good rate. Coming to Academics, practical learning is the priority of our College and will leave no stone to turn so that students interact and at the same time be good in their academics and constant help and support is provided from the faculty. The faculty is great. Most of them are dignified and experts in their own fields and encourage students to reach their goal. One name I can think of is sayanta maam of mathematics department.

In mechanical branch, the placements are fine. Core companies don't come to our college much but most of the students gets placed in IT related fields. I don't know the exact no. Students getting placed but i may say like 65-70%. Most of them even opt to choose higher education. The placement process is not a hard thing, it's easily done and within reach to student as the college helps and supports the students in every step of this process and then leave it to their abilities. Our industrial faculty advisor and the student body or the student coordinator do their best jobs to bring companies to our college.

We have tech fest and cultural fest which will be almost of 3-4 days. I must say those are the best moments coz there's a huge participation from the student side and our college doesn't provide money to the events at times. But it surely encourages the student involvement in such extra curricular activities and fests. We have had programs ( related to NGO) and College has provided it's support in making such programs wonderful.

I have availed for the educational loan that our college bank- SBI NIT Agartala Branch has provided me. There are Very smooth and humble people that help us through this process and don't hesitate to help us further in any more problems. There's even student loan.

I must say, among all NITs we have the best infrastructure. It is almost 400 acres and have all the facilities that a students requires. Our sports complex is the no.1 sport facility centre among all NITs in India. Wifi connection is good, library is pretty good, they have wide range of books and the infrastructure is breathtaking. The equipment in labs are good. All are up to date.

Girls hostel infrastructure is kind of old but it is neatly maintained with a beautiful garden area. The rooms are pretty good with good water and food facilities. There are wardens and maasi that help us time to time with anything that we need. And availing hostel is very easy like it's just a small process of filling out a form that will be provided during the registration time. There's high security of girls hostel like the intime is 6 pm so they are over protective of girl students. Our hostel has 5-6 blocks and the rooms and hallways are cleaned everyday by workers. Also the washrooms are neatly maintained. Never had a problem regarding water and power. They are well provided.
