GATE I got 99.50 percentile i opted for the placement and academics and its culture and life.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum was easy with some tough courses too we had a good mix of practical and theory subjects then from 2nd year, we had thesis work. 3rd sem was seminar presentation and discovery of the gaps in the research area 4th semester was purely thesis work.
College Events
Thomso this is one of the biggest events happening at IIT Roorkee its a tech and cult fest people from all over India come to take part and enjoy the culture you will feel like living in heaven because the decoration and the arrangement are awesome celebrities are also invited, Congni - this is more or less a cult fest.
Fees and Financial Aid
I do not know that I did not opt for the loan so I can not comment on this for M.Tech guys there is a stipend.
Campus Life
Campus life is an awesome very beautiful campus in terms of greenery roads lighting canteens and market is also outside the campus so i think life is hassle free gender ration - 20% female and rest are males.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel is best among all other IITs food Is best among all other IITs internet is best among all Other IITs some hostels have single room per person and some have shared rooms as well. But overall hostels are beautiful with all the facilities.
Exam Structure
The exam structure is good to score CGPA 70% exams are easy with lot of repeated questions being asked in the exam rest depend upon the faculty but i suggest to focus more on practical rather than the theory every semester there is one optional subject from other departments.
Admission
I submitted the gate score along with the online application form i got shortlisted for the counseling and then I went to counseling. We submitted the draft of the fee in advance so students who got selected got admission and the rest of the students were put on the waiting list (who did not withdraw their drafts) waiting list candidates were asked to come for spot counseling for the remaining seats.
Faculty
Faculties were mixed 30% of faculties are good in terms of teaching and research skills rest does not usually do hard work with the students they are just enjoying IIT Life. 50% New faculties are good in both aspects which are teaching and research skills.
