Remarks

Hindu College is one of the premier educational institutions of the country and has been ranked as the #3 college in India as per NIRF college rankings 2020 and #1 arts and science college as per India today college rankings 2020. It has also secured an A+ grade in the first grading cycle of NAAC's assessment which is based on the quality of academics, infrastructure, reputation, student care, extra curriculum, and job prospects across all colleges. Its admission procedure is very simple, every year cutoff is released on the centralized DU portal and if you have the necessary marks and fulfill the eligibility criteria then you can avail the of admission. As mentioned earlier that this college has the best rankings, placements, location, extracurricular exposure, qualified faculty, state of the art infrastructure, and facilities at a very affordable fee structure, it becomes a dream college for everybody. I chose this college after consulting seniors & websites like collegedunia etc.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course is really good and well-reputed. I chose B.com. Hons. because I liked the curriculum and also it overlaps with the exam syllabus of Chartered Accountancy. So one can pursue CA and B.com.Hons. together. The faculty-student ratio is far better than other colleges. In the first sem, there are 80 students in my class and we have 5 teachers teaching us. Faculty is also very well qualified, most of them are Phd holders and have 10+ years of teaching experience.Exams are timely and conducted in a centralized manner. It is easy to pass if one study judiciously and understand the concepts.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Our Placement Cell actively connects with various companies to provide internship opportunities to Hindu students. Prestigious companies like BCG, Delloite, Urban Clap were the past recruiters. The stipend is also very attractive with perks of Pre Placement offers and Letters of recommendation. There are generally more than 10 internship opportunities that are floated in a month by our college. Students can apply and get selected after appearing for Interviews or after clearing the required selection procedure.

Placement Experience

4

Hindu College is well known for its placements. It is among the best college whose highest placement packages reach 30 LPA and mean stands at 7-8 LPA. Usually, people from 3rd Year are allowed to sit for the campus placements but the placement cell is working year-round to provide summer internships and other regular part-time placements. Each year 100s of Companies like Delloite, BCG, Bain Mckinsey visit the campus and roll out several hundred placement offers. Detailed statistics are available on the Hindu Placement Cell Linkedin to Handle and Hindu College Website. Job profiles offered range from analyst to consultant generally for commerce/economics and technician, scientist, chief engineer for science students. Arts students get placed in public policy or creative profiles. There is not a fixed percentage of students getting placed but if you are a decent student with an average to good GPA then you can definitely get placed in a good company, My plan is to become a CA or do an MBA.

Fees and Financial Aid

Hindu's Fee structure is really good as the fee is minimal around 17000-18000 per year. When compared to other private colleges of the same segment it is just 10% of them. There are various scholarships and financial aids also available. You can access the complete scholarship brochure on the Hindu's college website and get a hang of it.

Campus Life

5

Hindu's annual fest is called Mecca it is generally held in winters every year. It is a lively fest with music, festivities, and parties. Many celebrities also grace the fest and the footfall is in thousands of people. The library is well stocked and well managed. You can find all types of books and you can read them for free. Apart from books you also get access to research paper journals and references. The environment is very calm and you can study or complete your assignments in silence. We are also provided access to the digital library. It has more than a million books research papers journals etc. Classrooms are old but still better than other government colleges. There is an old mist in the classroom that you will remember even after you graduate. There are a plethora of extracurricular activities on the campus. ranging from debating, drama, quizzing to dance & music. We also have good sports facilities as we have a full cricket ground, football pitch, swimming pool, basketball courts.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
