Goenka is one of the best college for Commerce in india as well as kolkata where students can get quality education with a nominal fees. This place is heaven of education for students and all. Goenka surely gives a good time in ones life.

Bcom is a vast curriculum which focus mainly on accounts and being in goenka you are oy provided with a honours in financial accounting so you get a deep insight about accounts subject. The curriculum focuses on growth of a students academic knowledge which helps him/her to secure easy placements with on campus placements also being provided by the college. There are visits planned for various institutions but you have to take self initiative to reach out to students union and take the advantage.

Placement is decent as many of the top most companies like Delloite, EY, Amazon etc comes to the college for on campus placement. General steps followed for the placement is first an aptitude test, then group discussion, then personal interview. The number of students actually placed are very low as many of the students are engaged in professional courses like ca cma cs cfa etc and many look dor post grad so they dont take jobs now, but almost 30 students are placed in these companies every year of 600 who appear for the placements. No steps were taken by the college for assisting in placements.

Quest is a 3 day cultural event held by the students union of the college in which many college comes and participates in 20-30 different kind of competition. The fest (quest) is held on a big scale and students of all college equally enjoy in the fest. There is also guest appearance of celebrities in the college.

Fee is very very feasible with around 3000 for 3 years. The mode of payments accepted to pay is cash. Talking about additional fees there is liberary fees of 5 rupees per year and student union charges students for donations in quest and Saraswati puja. The Fees is paid on semester basis and extra examination fees is to be paid. The procedure of fee payment if fully transparent.

No scholarship is available from the college side as the fees is already so cheap. Paying 85 a month is not a big deal and many colleges takes more fees after giving scholarships for the same. So there is not in college scholarships to opt for.

Gender ratio in the college is very good which is around 1:1 or sometimes there are more girls than boys in the class. One weak point of the college is its campus. There is a 5 floor tall building with a small sitting area in front and a small garden. No grond is available for playing outdoor games. There are common room for boys and girls where one can play carrom and table tennis. There are no societies but a single students union which heads every kind of social act in the college. Politics is there in the college as the student union here supports the ruling party. There is no any discrimination according to sex, race, or cast in the college and everyone is treated equally. One would not face any kind of discrimination here in the college.

There is no hostel service available. You can avail pg services insted. Pg is available bat bow bazar area in which college is situated as well as nearing areas like mg road and girish park. The average fees of a pg in kolkata is around 7. 5-8k per month including the fooding. But most of the pgs are not up to the mark and food is not of good quality. It is hard to find a good pg around in kolkata.

Seniors at the college are very friendly to every junior. There is nothing like ragging going on here in the college and most of the seniors really help the juniors in every kind of problem they have. Anti ragging policy is strictly followed in the college.

B.Com is the best course out there for commerce kids and specifically having honours courses opens a bright gate for their future. The factors which made me choose goenka over other colleges is first of all its fees which is very very low that is just 3k for three years, yes u read it right just 85 per month and admission fees of 5 rupees. Moreover it is one of the best college out there with being in top 15 commerce colleges my time. For the admission first you have to apply online through their website. After some time they will publish a provisional list where your rank according to the merit will be mentioned. Then time to time they will give the cutoff positions, just wait for your call and complete your admission process. Then they call you up for physical verification and done you are admitted.

There are high number of lectures conducted by highly qualified and experienced teachers with 5-6 lectures per day all the year long. The average age of a professor is around 40-45 and some are recruited recently. They grab a good amount of knowledge and are expertised in every kind of accounting with knowledge of maths also. The curriculum do provide a lot of info but only restricts students to theoritical knowledge. All the lecturers are highly qualified with phd's and also mcom for the same. Many of them keep a high post in Calcutta University. They all have great experience in the field of teaching.
