Remarks

Although I haven't graduated yet, I can say that these three years will be the most fruitful years of my life. I have learnt the most important lessons of my life here. I have been given the most rarest platforms where I got opportunity to explore my abilities and skills. Therefore, to conclude, I would surely say that my college and university is the perfect platform to succeed.

Entrance Preview

I scored 88% in my 12th CBSE board examinations to enter into this college. The entrance was based on merit and I was eligible in the very first cut-off list.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

My courses are structured by the University of Delhi. I would go to the extend of saying that it is the perfectly designed history course one can study in the course of three years. The division of the course is chronological. In the first year we studied the Ancient Indian history, then in the second year, we studied Medieval Indian history and now in the third year, we are studying the modern India. Simultaneously, we are also studying the world history through different papers.

Internships Opportunities

It surely does. But, to my unfortunate, I have not become a part of the program. However, I have worked for the History society of my college and I see that as an internship opportunity because I have learnt some of the most important lessons working for it.

Placement Experience

4

I have no idea about the placement and job opportunities. It is because I'm in the history course and there are not many prospects after the bachelor program. For getting a good tenure, one must pursue Masters and other post-graduate programs. However, I have seen the commerce section's placements and heard that they bring some really lucrative companies.

College Events

5

Every year we have: Freshers Party, Lectures by renowned Professors and speakers, We have college fest, We have society fest, We have MUN sessions, We have debates held on current topics, We have quiz competitions and many more events during the year. The size of the fest depends. The college fests are really big. Society fests are small but we enjoy the most. Debates, quiz, MUN and lectures have helped a lot to all of us.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Wow! The fees are very nominal and yes, of course, feasible. I pay just Rs 6000 for an entire year to my college and in return I get a lot more than that. However, I would suggest that they should take a few more bucks and try to work on the infrastructure of the college. Even the paying of fees is not an issue. This year it has become online, thus the long queues wont be anymore torturing us.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, several scholarships are awarded by the college on the base of academics and sports. Also scholarships are given to OBC, SC, Kashmiri, north-eastern and other students who are genuinely in the need of financial help and are really deserving.

Campus Life

3

Campus life of my college and university is the dream of every Indian student. I have been immensely fortunate to cherish it for three fruitful years. I did not find any vast gaps in the gender ratio. Living in Delhi, diversity in inevitable. I have students from almost all the states of India in my batch. This diversity becomes a wonderful learning experience of co-existing and fulfilling the saying, Unity in Diversity.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

I don't live in a hostel. I live in a PG. The food depends on the PG's and thus cant be generalized. However, the canteen of the college sucks. In terms of fool quality and utmost hygiene, the canteen is a nightmare. However, the food stores and small cafes in the campus vicinity are the lifelines of foodies like me. My accommodation is the least concern for me as I sufficiently get what I need to survive, thus I don't usually fuss about it. Average rental is Rs 3,500 per month if you rent a room on twin-sharing.

Alumni/Alumna

Ah seniors! Of course, my seniors have always been very supportive. They have taught me both, good and bad things to survive through the college. Academically, they have always shared their notes and their opinions on the topics, thereby making our way easy.

Exam Structure

Exam structure is, I would say, okay. They can certainly do better. Exams are pretty hectic at times. But I think they should make it more equitable. The evaluation of the answer-sheets has never satisfied a studious student like me who prepares each and every answer sincerely from various books and articles. This is because, after going thru all the pain, I score just 5-10 more marks than a student who reads from the Wikipedia the night before the exam. However, being the topper of my department, I think that there should be an equitable evaluation of the papers.

Faculty

4

The quality of Faculties depend on how you reciprocate with them. Some professors are really really knowledgeable but cannot impart their wisdom in a very effective way. However, some professors have brilliant teaching skills and can make you understand the toughest theories in lucid way. However, both types of teachers are important and useful, if you have genuine wish to learn. Fortunately, in my college, I feel that I have got some of the most wonderful teachers.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
