Remarks

I got 86% in 12th st. and I got qualified for 3 colleges as per du cut off i.e Shyam Lal college, Laxmi bai college & Mata Sundri College. Laxmibai was far from my home & Shyam lal doesn't have that good academics record. So, after consulting with my family, friends & seeing the reviews of college in Shiksha. com, I decided to opt for Mata Sundri College. I went to this college for admission with my friend. First I went to the 'admission room' where 3 female teachers were handling the admission process. I went to one of them & they asked me for my 12th mark sheet then they calculated my marks to see whether I'm qualifying as per their cutoff or not. After that, they handed me the admission form & asked me to fill it. One of the members of the faculty helped me to fill my form correctly. Then I submitted my form & they asked me to wait for 1 hr. After 1 hr they called my name & handed me an admission slip. While the whole process faculty were very polite to students.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I choose b. Com prog as my course because in future I want to prepare for banking exam. In our course, there are 3 sections and in each section, there are 60 students. In every semester we have 4 subjects, it includes both practical & theory subjects. In our college, most of the faculty members are PhD holders. I found practical subject teachers are better than theory subject teachers in terms of teaching. They hardly cancel any of their lectures & also give sufficient time for completing an assignment. Our exam held two times a year i. e May & Dec. The difficulty level of an exam is moderate. If you are taking lectures daily and genuinely listening to it, then you can easily score 7 to 8 Cgpa. Some subjects teacher also provide notes which is also very helpful.

Placement Experience

2

The placement of our college is not that good, average placement offered rs 3 to 4 lakhs. Final-year students are eligible for placements. Personally, I have no interest in placement because my goal is already clear that I want to prepare for the banking exam.

Fees and Financial Aid

The refundable one-time caution fee is 18000rs per annum for b.com prog. (Refund of fee is as per guidelines of university). Financial assistance is provided to deserving candidates based on their merit. All the eligible SC/St, OBC, PwD students can avail scholarships after submitting their scholarship form.

Campus Life

3

Our college celebrated 'Sarang' the annual college festival on 24th & 25th Feb 2020 in which they invited poet & Sufi singer Satinder Sartaj. An event such as quiz competition & debate were also organized there for students. And I really had a great & fun time there with my friends. In college, there is an auditorium named after 'Mata sahib Kaur ji' fully air-conditioned & seating capacity of more than 500 people & Fresher's party is also organized there. It also includes a spacious cafeteria but the food quality is not that good so I prefer to bring my own lunch. The best part is there is gurudwara within college premises & students are allowed to go there. The library of our college is big & well maintained so, I borrowed my subjects books from there. They have various cells such as councelling cell, placement cell, equal opportunity cell, anti-ragging cell, etc & recently they added entrepreneurship cell. Have various societies- debating, dramatics, film, culture, dance.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

The placement is quite good the percentage of students is not same always it changes but only those students with proper knowledge, experience, skills get good placement. There is a proper placement cell for this which is very active. Prepare for government exams (SSC, UPSC, etc.) Go for higher education (PG, B.Ed., MBA, etc.) Enroll in skill-based or professional certification courses outside college

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
