RAKESH KUMAR MEHTA's Review On Army Institute Of Technology - [AIT], Pune

IIT MAINS. Since kid I was a lot in maths and science and as I grew, engineering came into me in every aspect of life be it sports, projects or any other thing. Selection was basically merit based on IIT MAINS ranking.

There are not provisions from the college but they motivate and support a lot as far as research and higher studies is concerned. The syllabus structure is really good as far as research is concerned. They are a lot of good things which we study can be studied furthur into research.

There a lot of companies which visit our college regarding internships and projects like Amazon, Calsoft, GS Labs, Persistent, INA Bearings, etc etc which provide a lot of exposure and a much better environment of our working future. Stipend varies from 10k to 20k a month.

Placements here are really awesome. Everyone gets placed. It's been 2 months since our 4th year and more than 30 per cent of the college is placed in companies like HSBC, MuSigma, Deloitte, PGS, Sapient, Oracle, Thoughtworks, 3DPLM, ZS Associates, etc package ranging from 15 lpa to 5 lpa.

There is inter branch technical cultural and sports fest that is held every year AAKRITI that continues for a period of 10-15 days. Inter College sports fest PACE, cultural fest AMETHYST and TECHNICAL fest SOLUTIONS is also held every year which gives us hundreds of events to participate and learn.

The fees is bit expensive but it's been decided by the university so college has no say in that. The tuition fees itself is about 1 lac plus hostel and messing charges that add up to around 55k. Other kind of things added to the fees structure are laundary, wifi, development fees etc that add up to the fees to make it around 1.8 lacs.

AGIF is scholarship provided by Army every year to top 14 students from first year to fourth year in every branch that amounts to 40k, other than that there is MeritCum scholarship, PM scholarship, Cummins Scholarship etc etc that amounts from 15k to 25k.

The campus life is like a dream come true, what we used to think about our college life in school life. A lot of things to do be it in sports or cultural or technical other than academics. Since we all our from Army background, it bounds us more tightly.

Since it's a college administered by Army specifically Army Welfare Education Society the mess and hostel facilities are way way more good than any other engineering college in or around Pune. 24 hours electricity and water, hot or cold, night canteens, wifi facility, etc .

Alumni network is really very strong which I witnessed in the last Alumni Meet. They are responsible for a lot of companies that visit college for campus placement. Other than that they provide funds and projects too. They support us and guide us a lot.

There are exams in 2 phases in every semester i.e. Insem and Endsem. Labs are daily but none of them leaves us exhuasted. We get enough time for other co-curricular activities be it sports or cultural activities and for the other technical events too.

Every faculty here is a ME or MTech but there are few who done their PhD. They are very qualified and the interest they create in the subject is really really good. Their communication skills are really very good and their methodology is awesome too.
