Remarks
There used to be problems while raising funds for the college annual fests. The college management needs to be a little more astringent overall.
Entrance Preview
This college took admission based on merit in 10+2 examination. No entrance exam was required for admission.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course structure is really diverse as it covers almost all genres of literature. It gradually proceeds from one period to another in order for the student to understand the social, political, and economical factors affecting the literature of that period and geographical location. The curriculum also contained various elective papers from history, philosophy, and economics every alternate semester.
Internships Opportunities
The college has an internal placement cell named Pinnacle, with which a student can connect for internships. Also, the professors recommend some good internships too which is extremely helpful.
Placement Experience
The placement cell Pinnacle looks after the placements and job opportunities. I myself got placed through the placement cell. It's quite efficient. Companies like Delhivery, NIIT, Deloitte, and Genpact conduct campus placement in the college and offer decent packages. But it would be great if they offered higher packages.
College Events
Like every college, our college had a custom of organising cultural fests every year. The jitters before the actual college wide fest usually began by February, where in each department would organise their own fest. And the college fest would start by March and would last for about 3 days with an arrangement of different fun activities. The last day would usually have a concert arranged for a celebrity. But, our management was really a miser in raising funds, so there were not very memorable celebrity concerts during my college days at Ramjas.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is extremely reasonable and affordable for most people. The fee usually varied from 9k to 15k depending on whether you're a humanities student or a science student. Hence, I would really appreciate the fee structure as it was extremely pocket friendly and we were lucky to avail good quality education.
Fees and Financial Aid
I have no knowledge about any of the scholarship or loan facility provided by the college. Hence, no inputs for this.
Campus Life
The college was among the top 10 colleges of Delhi University. Not only did it provide adequate curriculum but also top-notch faculty. The college had extremely efficient cultural societies doing excellent work in the fields of music, art, dance, and drama. The students came from all over India and mostly it was good being surrounded by so many diverse cultures and backgrounds. Overall it was a good experience. Although, some of the hostel residents complained about inequality between the two genders. The hostel was more strict for girls regarding timings and other things, which should not have been the case.
Hostel Facilities
Our college hostel really provides low accommodation for students. They only select two students (one boy for boys hostel and a girl for girls hostel) per course per year based on merit. Since I couldn't get through the merit list during my college, I had to stay in a PG. The pg services are extremely expensive. I used to pay 12k for a seat in a 3-seater room. This included all the facilities like food, WiFi, electricity, water, etc.
Alumni/Alumna
The seniors of my department were extremely helpful. We could go to them in case of any problem faced related to either the course or faculty. They were always ready to help.
Exam Structure
The final exams were conducted per semester. Each exam's duration was 3 hours. We had internals and final exams. No practicals for humanities students. The internals usually happened about one month before the final exams (which was decided by the students as it deemed helpful, being closer to the finals) and it proved helpful in the overall preparation for the final exams as most of the syllabus was completed till this time.
Faculty
The faculty was highly qualified. Most of them either held a M. Phil or a PhD degree. They were extremely involved with students through discussions and we're extremely thorough about the subjects of discussion. They were the best professors one can ask for. They made the lectures interesting.
