Remarks
National Institute of Technology [NIT] Agartala is ranked 70th in the Engineering category by NIRF Ranking 2019. It is also known as the knowledge hub because more specialized subjects like aeronautics were introduced. It is the first college to have a Kendriya Vidyalaya on its campus. Admissions are basically from various entrance tests wherein if the candidates comply with the cutoffs released they are eligible for admission.
Course Curriculum Overview
NIT Agartala has highly qualified teachers who imbibe knowledge into the students very well and out of the faculty, almost 150 hold Ph.ds in their respective subjects. The faculty is very supportive of the students and always ready to help them. They also teach the students various concepts that can help them further in their lives.
Placement Experience
The institute has an active training and placement cell which is deployed to provide all the students with the best opportunity to work with reputed companies. During the previous year's average, CTC was INR 5 LPA and medium 5.5 LPA. The highest offered was 36LPA by works application. The notable companies that came for recruitment were Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Amazon, Tata, etc.
Fees and Financial Aid
The scholarships are provided to the deserving candidates who require them and also from the low economic background. The reserved candidates are also given fee concession as per the government norms.
Campus Life
It has all basic infrastructural facilities for conducting the undergraduate courses satisfactorily. It has a well-stocked library with more than 34000 books and 200 journals and all e-journal facilities are available in the digital library. It has a central computer laboratory with a separate broadband connection for every terminal. The campus also has a post office named NIT Agartala and an SBI branch ATM. A well-equipped medical unit is also available. The students can also actively participate in extracurricular activities like sports, games, drama, NCC programs, etc.
Hostel Facilities
The institute also has both boys hostel and girls hostel. Presently there are 6 boys hostel and 2 girls hostel. The institute is also planning to avail more hostels for the students. The students interested are made to fill a prescribed form for admission to the hostel and have to deposit the necessary fees. This year due to Covid all the hostels were shut down.
