My college.

The political environment of west bengal has little but still some influence on the college environment, which I believe should be filtered before it reaches the students.

I cleared WB-JEE with 85% aggregate and i was advised by my family and the colleges location from my home, plus its track record made to the top my list.

Its in sync with the market requirements and does ant prove to be unwanted pressure. The college has been school for a lot of seniors from school and proved to be the best nesting place for me.the labs and workshop in house are best in class,give more practical opportunity with text book knowledge. The college is located in Salt lake, especially a place in close proximity to major it companies, resulting in a lot of in campus training and influence by the market leading giants.Recently we had a seminar conducted by wipro, where a lot of subjectivity was put on the basic concrpts that we tend to skip.

Yes the college do provide internship and its majorly done during the final year with companies like Infosys, Wipro, Tata Consultancy Services, Cognizant. I do look forward for one of those, as those majorly result in market exposure and makes it easy to get in to the job market as we already have a concept of what is expected by major employing companies-during these internship the salary paid and almost at par with the market standards.

The college a great reputation in the market as the result placement have never been a problem, even this year we have noticed placement of 85% plus in the final year students, major takers being Infosys and TCS. The biggest reason i believe for the placement are also contributed by the collge's track-record and the campus location, which is surrounded by major IT heads, resulting in recognition by the companies and also enhances the interaction with the corporate sector.

The college has a yearly parents meet, where our parents are allowed to visit the college, meet the faculty and are also told about our performances the college also celebrates teachers day and we are asked to wear traditional dresses on major festivals. The exceptionally great occasions are the college fest and students reunion and youth festivals.

The Fee structure is at par with all major engineering colleges, where the total cost never exceeds 10laks in total 4 years, for any stream.the fees can be paid yearly or 6 monthly. The lab charges are based on the streams and depends if any scholarship applies.

I have not availed, however to my knowledge the college gives scholarship to students in top ranks from WBJEE, which can be 25% of the semistet fees. Students loan are available from selected banks,

The gender ratio would be about 45 % girls and 55% boys, the college is in close proximity to all major book shops, hence coffee shops are major places of socializing.the in campus students recreation rooms, fests, youth festivals are the exciting things that adds on the charm of the campus.

Being in the heart of the city,i had personally never used this facility, however it proves to be a boon for students coming from suburbs and distant small towns. The hostels are equipped with in house cafeteria, rooms have small attached kitchen, wifi facility, power back up, washing machine, laundry facility, one bed and one almirah and a small cricket ground.

There are yearly ex students reunion, where we meet our colleges stallworth, who are doing great in their profession, they also share their experiences and knowledge,which are the special gift for us to be ready for tomorrow.

Honestly, it has been a balance, though the pressure is there but the exam schedule makes us comfortable as its scheduled in 2 semesters in a given year where we can select the subjects and the dates don't over lap between practicals and written exams. The exam labs are always maintained at a good condition, with no sudden breakdown or issues during the exams. The scoring is aggregated on a monthly scale, resulting a continues focus and no loss of attention.

Standard and professional, i am specially fond my engineering drawing teacher. The college's special classes gives us opportunity to get more as students interaction, doubts are best addressed and cleared.The faculty also encourages students the best use of innovation and brain storming sessions.
