The best view of IIT Kharagpur

I feel good about the academic quality of the college, but I feel that the faculty should improve their basic teaching skills, so that every student would be able to utilize the classes taken in the beat possible way.

The course curriculum is really good and efficient. The examination structure consists of a mid-semester examination which has a weightage of 30% in the final grade and an end semester examination which has a weightage of 50% in the final grade. The remaining 20% will be based on the attendance of the student, a class test and some minor projects.

The placement scenario is really good in IIT Kharagpur. Last year more than 1500 placement offers were given where around 1600 students sat for the placements. The average package would be around 7lakhs per annum. The career development center takes care of the placements aswell. Around 30-40% of the students get internships. The average stipend is a 5 digit number per month.

The tuition fee per a semester is 1lakh and the other fees together would be around 70 thousand Indian rupees. So, per an academic years the Total fees would be around 3lakh 40 thousand rupees. Considering the average income of a person in India, this fees is expensive.

The best part of a student at IIT Kharagpur is the extra curricular activities. The Student's organize a lot of events and take part in different clubs and activities together along with their academic life. Not only the clubs, even the sports culture at IIT Kharagpur is really good. Students go to the practice everyday under the guidance of some of the best coaches.

Yes every student in the campus chooses for the hostel and the hostel facilities are good enough. But the food isn't up to the mark. Students generally prefer to eat at night canteens or restaurants rather than mess.

There is an Alumni affairs cell inside the campus which takes care of the alumni network. The seniors are really good inside the campus. They are the go to destination for any doubts or clarifications. The fact that there is no ragging inside the campus is very much relaxing.

Students with more than 75% in the physics, Maths and chemistry in the 12th boards of Telangana state can appear for the IIT-JEE Main examination. Generally more than 14 lakh students appear for this. Around 1.5 lakh students will be allowed to appear for IIT-JEE Advance Examination. Finally around 10,000 students will be selected. Now the students will have to fix their preference list for various courses in various IITs. According to the rank of the student, he will be getting a course in an IIT.

The faculty of the college are really talented and have many research publications in many fields. But I feel that the faculty in the campus are not able to teach in the best possible manner. Many of the professors lack basic skills of teaching and hence make the students to lose interest in the course.
