Remarks
The management of the campus was average overall. Being the government officers, you won't find them pro-active. But it is improving gradually. There is a way for things to get done inside the campus, equally lengthy as any other government office. But they are now making processes simpler at both ends.
Entrance Preview
I took the IIT Jee entrance exam, scored a rank of 800. I have the option for IIT Delhi chemical or IIT Roorkee ECE. ECE branch has good placement that's why opted for this.

In 2010, the one-semester fee was Rs. 50000 including education fee and hostel fees. For financially weak students there was a scholarship program under which education fee is reimbursed, making the effective fees Rs.37000 only. This is very less as compared to other private institutes
Fees and Financial Aid
For financially weak students, there is a scholarship program where education is reimbursed completely. If anyone interested in an education loan, then there are PNB and SBI branches within the campus who easily process the loan requirement
Campus Life
The gender ratio is very poor, there were 2 girls over 100 boys. In terms of diversity, one can find students from all around the country. There are various extracurricular like gardening, photography, robotics, drama, entrepreneur club, etc. Most of the clubs are pro-active and keep on organizing workshops and events for the student.
Hostel Facilities
The campus is extremely good and peaceful. Imagine living in a lush green environment with no pollution air. This is how living at this place is like. Hostels are well maintained and the average room size was 10ftx10ft with single occupancy. The food at IITR has not been very impressive. The first year hostel mess serves you with the worst food. But we also have very good messes like the Govind Bhawan mess.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni of IITs are the best. Many alumni keep coming to IITs for placement or for interactions/seminars.
Exam Structure
Most of the labs are conducted in the afternoon and the last from 2 pm to 6 pm. An average day was of 8 hours. First and Third-year courses are more hectic and can have more than 10 hours a day. There is two kinds of exams: Mid seems which are conducted 2-3 are day and End Sems which are 1 per day and continue for 5-6 days.
Faculty
Being an IIT all the professors are well qualified and knowledgeable in their respective courses. Most of the professors are teaching for last 15-20 years, so they have answers to all the questions. They are very much interested in the R&D project and fully support the willing students.
