Remarks

I never wanted to settle down in kolkata but as my dad had studied from St. Xavier's college kolkata, he wanted even me to graduate from the same but i somehow could'not manage to crack the entrance there for Bba, so J.D Birla had to be the next best alternative for me if i was to stay there in kolkata. So here i am, in JDBI with no regrets and enjoying my college life, along with academics ofcourse.h

Course Curriculum Overview

The teachers are very much helpful, qualified, knowledgeable. They are always interested and focused on the course, for that they don't teach theories all the time rather they try to indulge the students into varieties of activities and brainstorming sessions, flip classroom methods etc, which is to be honest tough sometimes but gives you enormous amount of confidence, indepth knowledge, and experiences ofcourse.

Placement Experience

Students get very well placed during campus placement. The highest package till date: Rs. 3.6L pa, average package till date: Rs. 1.5L pa. Companies that have visited this institute are: Godrej, Patshala, airtel, Amazon, Byjus, Tech Mahindra, Wipro and more. Also, the training and development process goes on here before a student goes to give his/her interview.

College Events

We have different events like sports events, Basketball handball, volleyball, table tennis, throwball tournaments, along with management events, cultural events like the Halloween events, 15 August program, clubs ngo's, with something or the other that keeps coming.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Deperments with strong placement cells secure 10-15 offers per company, depending on batch size. 5. 8-10LPA Highest package offered by Leading companies and 4-5LPA Average package offered by companies. 6. 60-80% of students getting placements. i am interested in Ph.D. programs for research positions.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

Admission here depends on your 12th grade and we also have a test on checking our English. Students who fail there even if he/she has good grades in 12th stands not eligible.
