Remarks

St. Stephen's College has an aura and legacy of polishing the students by providing them with the best exposure through involvement in numerous activities. Without an iota of doubt, the college has the finest teachers for various departments. I chose the BA Programme course because it is not specialised and on a graduation level one can study different subjects. The strength of the class is around 60; easier to have direct interaction with the teachers. St. Stephen's College is not just about academic learning, moreover, the college offers enrollment in different societies like the Hindi Sahitya Sabha, Shakespeare Society for literature fanatics, Sabha for theatre lovers etc. The college has around forty societies with no bar for the students. The admission procedure usually starts a few weeks later than the DU registration. Students have to fill DU admission form first followed by the St.Stephen's College form on its portal. Interview dates are published on the official site.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course is divided into 6 semesters, out of which two discipline subject are compulsory in all the semester exams. Teachers are well qualified and most of them are from prominent universities like Delhi University, Jawaharlal Nehru University and some have accomplished their research from abroad. The tutorials are taken every week to clear the doubts of the students and help them to prepare for their semester and internal exams.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Internship opportunities are numerous as some of the students can work on the grounds for the NGOs while the others who want to make profits can work for economic organisations. Most of the students choose to work as a financial consultant and they get good perks and stipend. The Campus Placement Cell makes sure that every student gets in a pot Unity to make the best use of internship opportunities.

Placement Experience

3.5

Around 70% of the students get good campus placements, especially in the private sector. The average package for the students is 6,000,00 per annum. The highest package offered to the student varies between 25 lakhs to 35 lakhs. My plans are different as I want to pursue my higher education.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college provides various scholarships for the students like MUFG Bank Scholarship, Sumoto Bank Scholarship etc. The scholarships are provided to the students who need financial aid and to some meritorious students. Usually every month there is an internship opportunity for the students from various sectors such as banking, financial consultants, research work etc. The total cost of the entire course is around Rs 1 lakh (hostel not included) and the college offers hostel accommodation separately if needed.

Campus Life

3

The best part of college is that it helps you to grow your personality and one can either sit peacefully on the lawns or go to the library to study. The college has a peaceful environment where we not only enjoy ourselves with our friends but feel calm and composed. For people who are interested in sports, there are games like table tennis, football, frisbee, shooting and an enormous sports complex.

Hostel Facilities

3

I lived in the hostel for some time and all the basic amenities are available there but one has to make sure that they reach the hostel especially women by 10 pm. The meal quality is average but you get a variety of food to eat.

Interview Experience

4

There is an aptitude test in the form of multiple-choice questions which includes the basic questions important for the preferred course. The interview panel is quite cooperative and they usually question from what we studied earlier for our board exams. Be thorough with the subject where you scored the maximum marks in your board exam. They can ask you about the area where you reside and their most favoured question is why do you want to join St. Stephen's College.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
