Most of the time we have event organised by the college. We have one cultural and sports fest in November month every year known as tempest and a sports week in the month of march.

Fee Structure And Facilities

You have to pay a sum of 2.25 lakh INR per annum. Divided in two- 1.25 lakh INR in odd semester and 1 lakh INR in even semester.

Fees and Financial Aid

Every semester the top 30 rank of every batch got INR 75,000 of scholarship.

Campus Life

Students here are from every part of the country but the majority is from Bihar. students comprises of different ethnicity and different races. Gender ratio is a big issue due to stream, in my batch only 3 girls out of 240 total batch strength. No politics is allowed inside campus and here no influence of any political parties on the students.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel and mess fees are also included in total fees. Both the facilities are pretty good.

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

We have got a very vast network of alumni because college is more than 50 years old (opened in year 1949). We have 7170 pass outs from college till date. They are all over the marine industry in the world at very prestigious positions. They are very helpful in shaping our future.

Exam structure is consist of internal assessment conducted by the college and external assessment conducted by the university every semester.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

Good for placements, excellent hostel life and good to learn, apply and fun. A college for all round development.

I have searched for many other colleges but i chose this because it is the oldest marine engineering college and has a benchmark legacy, and this college has shaped the merchant navy of the nation.
