Remarks

The college is very strict when it comes to attendance issues and the teachers make sure that they take all of the classes. Incase they miss out on any class, they always make sure that they take extra classes to cover up what's lost. They circulate appropriate material for studying during the exams and guide the students well before they sit for a particular paper. The library is two floored and well stocked. The canteen is good.

Entrance Preview

I passed the 12th standard CBSE board examinations with a 92.75℅ (best of four) and I opted for Kamala Nehru college because I knew how the teachers here had so much passion for their respective subjects and made it a point not to miss classes. This kind of an environment is needed for students to excel in their future careers.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course structure has become more strenuous, as the current batch has to appear for five papers(including the elective subject) instead of the previously three papers (one core paper has been divided into two). There are three core papers in our course, one elective (we can choose any subject paper apart from our core subject) and one Skill Enhancing paper.

Internships Opportunities

Our college doesn't provide internships on their own, as far as I am aware. Different internship programme banners are put in the college for anyone interested.

Placement Experience

4

Placement and job opportunities are plenty, as heard from the seniors. The student at kamala Nehru college are extremely bright and able, and take great enthusiasm and interest in applying for internships and this work experience gives them an edge over the others. Each internship may fetch them an amount anywhere between 5000-15000.

College Events

5

Our college celebrates Kamala Nehru day, where the focus is on Mrs. Kamala Nehru and how she was a valiant 'freedom fighter's in her own right. Independence day is celebrated with the hoisting of our national flag, dancing, singing and a march past by our NCC team. Diwali Mela is put up at our college a week before we break for the diwali break. Also, thirdas are allotted as swatch Bharat abhiyan day where the college volunteers clean the premises.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees are affordable (different from course to course, ranging from 6000-10000) per year. There are also scholarships and fee relaxations provided, once the respective offices are referred to.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are scholarships and fee reductions provided by the college.

Campus Life

4.5

Our college is a woman's college and we are about 3000 students in total. People from all economic, social, sexuality and religious backgrounds are a part of our college and I have never seen any kind of discrimination happening on the basis of the above. Our college has many department or societies to help the minorities our, incase they do face any discomfort or injustice. There is a help desk for the Northeast students, a society for the equal treatment of women and they are fully functional and vigilant.

Hostel Facilities

5

I am not a part of the hostel. The canteen at our college is regarded as one of the best canteens in the whole of Delhi University. It serves good, wholesome food at meagre prices. It serves rice, rajma, chana, sprouts, pasta, dosa, idli, chowmein, coke, water, coffee, pastries, etc. at 6-50 rupees.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are helpful and are easy to talk to. I have seen students who have passed out from the college, come specially to meet the teachers and how they help each other out in the time of need.

Exam Structure

Every semester, there are at least two internal examination (more if the students don't score well, to allow them to score higher) which is a test of 10 marks each. 5 marks are for attendance and the theory papers (semester examination) fetch the students 75 marks. This paper happens during November and March, while the internals take place tentatively around August.

Faculty

4

Most of the teachers have at least a decade or more experience of teaching and our teachers especially our department teachers take criticism in a positive light and work on them to make the learning experience better for us. The professors are capable of teaching both in English and Hindi, which is extremely helpful.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
