Remarks

The admission process was as smooth as it was done through the central portal of the University of Delhi. While there were technical glitches but everything was sorted at last. I applied through General Quota and gave DUJAT entrance exam. The final merit list was prepared by giving 65% weightage to the DUJAT score and 35% weightage to the 12th marks which should compulsorily include English and Mathematics. Also, a person should score a minimum of 55% marks in his 10+2 to be eligible for the entrance examination. The entrance exam was conducted in two shifts which means two sets of paper. While the 1st set was a bit tough but was compensated by awarding them with grace marks. Further, the year 2020 saw one of the most unexpected twists that was a change in the examination pattern in which Higher Mathematics was given topmost priority and General Awareness given the least.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

BA (H) Business Economics is one of the exclusive courses which is only present at the University of Delhi. Its syllabus can be said as a combination of the B Com (H) syllabus and the Economics (H) syllabus. If a person has a vivid interest in both the fields of Commerce and Economics then he/she should definitely opt for this course as it is more practical and industry oriented. In our college, we have a good Faculty: Student ratio and teachers are kind enough to take up our doubts. Further, most of the professors are pursuing their Ph.D. simultaneously which gives us an edge over students of other universities. The term-end examinations were entirely open book-based and were not at all difficult to pass if the student has just read about the concepts.

Internships Opportunities

5

Talking about internship opportunities, the college hosted around 121 companies in academic session 2020-21 with the highest stipend reaching 40,000 per month. Also, just for the benefit of students of the entire nation, the college organizes Anubhava- The largest Internship Fair which invites more than 100 companies and the highest stipend touching 80,000 per month from its top recruiter- Chegg. Just to name the prominent recruiters, in the past year the college witnessed companies such as Lenskart Foundation, White Hat Jr, Vouchagram, Big Basket, Collegedunia, Zomato Feeding India, HBF Direct, Z1 Media, AXA Consultants, etc.

Placement Experience

4.5

The college brings out Internship Opportunities daily along with monthly career development workshops which aims towards enhancing the placements of the college. In academic session 2020-21, the college witnessed 44 Companies including names such as EY, Bain and Company, KPMG Global, Deloitte, PwC, Wills Tower Watson, Apollo Tyres, etc. The highest package reached the height of 12 LPA while the average package is around 5.4 LPA. Also, throughout the year over 221 offer letters were issued to the third-year students. Most of the students after pursuing BA (H) Business Economics go for their higher studies- MBA, Masters, etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees for BA (H) Business Economics is approximately 35,000 per year as it has been subsidized by the central government. Further, if a student is not able to pay his dies then he/ she can easily apply for a loan under various central and state government programs. From the past few years, there has been no considerable hike in academic fees. Campus jobs are available thanks to the efficient placement cell of the college which ensures regular career development sessions along with internship opportunities.

Campus Life

4

Campus life is as good as other University of Delhi colleges. The annual fest named Lashkara is held every year in the month of February. It hosts a variety of events and societal fests. Societies are one the thing which gives the college edge over others. In this sphere, our college boasts of having a plethora of societies ranging from Enactus to Debates and Acting society. College heritage is also taken into consideration and that's why we have a separate divinity society that maintains the in-house Gurudwara. Apart from the cultural segment, the college has its well-functioning three-floor library which fulfills the needs of the academicians. Khalsa College has been known for its sports culture as it promotes it very much and also cares about the largest sports ground in the whole university. Some of the student-run societies are- Marketing Society (Marcell), Placement cell (Ignite), Debates (DADS). MUN and YP (Confero), Music (Swarang), Theatre (Ankur), E-Cell (Tegh-Preneurs), etc.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
