Remarks

I had applied for Daulat Ram college in the 2nd cutoff and the procedure was merit-based, I got admitted with the OBC quota, counseling was not provided. I also applied in the Hindu College of North campus only but my marks were .5% less than the cutoff for the same course as I am in that is Bcom Hons. that's why I couldn't get in. The admission process of Daulat Ram College as smooth as I had the required percentage along with my obc quota and we just needed to fill in the form and then wait for 2 hours for verification.

Faculty is good and well intellectual, most of them are permanent teachers and phd. They teach well. There are mid seems as well as semester exams, few are difficult while the average level is medium only.

Placement Experience

Third-year students get the opportunity of campus placement. Companies like Delloite, Ey, etc visit. Highest package is 30k per month. The percentage of students doesn't matter much but they are nearly 89%. I intend to appear for upsc ias exam and rbi grade B exam.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are as minimum as it is expected from a government college but since it has computer-based subjects so it is above 10000 for few courses like mine. Scholarships are provided as well as during covid, some percentage of fees refund was given.

Campus Life

The annual fest of the college- Manjari is organised every year and departmental fests are also there. Being an all-girls college, the crowd is decent. Few Classrooms have a projector and are big but many are small and suffocating. Almost all sports are played in the college and many tournaments are organised, inter as well as intra college.

Hostel Facilities

I have not had any direct interaction of the hostel. But the meal is good as I have heard and affordable too. The hostel is located beside the college building. There are many good PG at kamla nagar, gtb nagar.

Shyam lal college not on my wishlist

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Underrated College- An honest opinion

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

All about SRCC life, exposure, placements, faculty and my experience

Placement Experience:

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...

My view regarding my college

Remarks:

Academically you can choose it but if you are looking for some fancy institution with some best infrastructure and fancy canteen I won't suggest you this college. But this college has one of the very best cricket team and one of our student named Mayank dagar is leading Indian National under-19 team. So I think you understand the impact.

To be honest I only applied for Delhi University through CUET and I selected many colleges from DU like Miranda, Hansraj, Lady Shri Ram, Kirori Mal, many from the south and off campuses and in the first phase I got this college DRC and this course BA Programme English and History and I thought that this was an interesting course so that's why I chose this subject and college but if I could have upgraded my choices there was a chance that I could get seleced in other college but I chose to go with this option and some of my friends also got that college. I did not applieed for any other university/college except DU. To get to DRC college we have to attempt the CUET entrance exam from which we can get admission here by filling this college in your preference.For general category the cutoffs get so high for specifically north campus colleges, But as I belong to ST so that way it was a bit easier to get admission....Read More

review of daulat ram college from the lens of a psychology honours student

Daulat Ram College has one of the best faculties for psychology hence it was top three in my preference list. Very active in extra curricular activities along with an amazing faculty. other colleges above this were Lady Shri Ram college and Jesus and Mary college. i missed both those colleges by 20,25 marks. Lady Shri Ram is the best for psychology followed by a tie between JMC and DRC in my opinion. although JMC's western music society was my key interest and the location of the college which is chanakya puri made me put it in second....Read More
