Course Curriculum Overview

4

As I was interested in history and english is also a decent subject I chose this combination although this was not my first preference but oerall this combo is decent and interesting to study because many things are related to each other. WE get to know about many writers from india and other countries which influenced the modern world. As the syllabus is not well structured the subjects keep on changing as the subjects we are studying now were not in the curriculam 2-3 years back. The questions in the exam are of moderate level and they come from the syllabus only. Overall if you are not sure about what you really are interested in you can go for the programme courses.

Internships Opportunities

3

The placement cell of drc called vriddi provides different internship opportunities for the students of DRC In collaboration with different companies. They provide both paid and upaid internships for students and students also work with ngo in college and outside college for experiience.

Placement Experience

2

I think from my personal view point the college placement is not too useful for the humanities and science background students as most of the offers are for the econoics and commerce students. Most probably students get selected for these placements from 5th semester. Many companies like HDFC, Wipro have visite the campus for placements. The highest package can exceed upto 20 lakh and the averege can gp upto 6lpa To be honest I have no idea about the percentage of the students that gets placed because im curretly in 2nd year. After getting the degree I am thinking of pursuing for the higher studies in any one of the subject.

Fees and Financial Aid

In first year I paid approximately 32,000 fee. For second I was charged 29,150, but as ive got scholarship named PMSSS which is Prime Minister sSpecial Scholarship Scheme wich runs under NSP my college fee gest paid from there, and I also get an allowance of 50,000 per semester for rent and living. the fee for all my classmates are same as me. There are many other scholarships whivh run under NSP for students. The scholarship in which I've applied for is specially for the residents of Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir students who all have done there higher studies form there only. but if we look at the fee structure compared to some other colleges of DU fee of Daulat Ram College is high.

Campus Life

4

Many functions happen here in DRC as the most biggest and the annual fest is named as Manjari which happens yearly in the month of febuary end or march. Except for that many more departmental fests and events and also fests and events from different societties also happens during this time. The library is like a treasure as we get all the book we want there as some books are of old editions but still these are so helpful. We can issue books from library with our library card from monday to friday. No classes normal class has like technological facilities but there are computer labs and all for the students who have classes in there. If we are interested in sports there's a ground also a volleyball net and kho kho ground also we can also access gym after 6 pm. overall the campus here is happening fun as the college is located in north campus that's why we get so much exposure.

Admission

To be honest I only applied for Delhi University through CUET and I selected many colleges from DU like Miranda, Hansraj, Lady Shri Ram, Kirori Mal, many from the south and off campuses and in the first phase I got this college DRC and this course BA Programme English and History and I thought that this was an interesting course so that's why I chose this subject and college but if I could have upgraded my choices there was a chance that I could get seleced in other college but I chose to go with this option and some of my friends also got that college. I did not applieed for any other university/college except DU. To get to DRC college we have to attempt the CUET entrance exam from which we can get admission here by filling this college in your preference. For general category the cutoffs get so high for specifically north campus colleges, But as I belong to ST so that way it was a bit easier to get admission.

Faculty

4

For now the faculty to student ratio is good. But in 3rd semester we faced many problems with faculty as they have not many teachers and our classes started 1 month late. Our english teaches named Rajeshwari Ma'am she was so sweet and she took all our classes on time and she is very good at teaching. She has been teaching us from first semester till now. We only faced problems with our History classes and faculty. Every faculty till now was good in there own way I got to learn many things from them every one taught me many things of life and syllabus. We have one main exam after every every semester which is applicable to all DU colleges. With that in DRC we have one exam before the main exam which also worked as a trial practice for the main exam and those marks also gets add up in our internal assesment. The exam level is moderate.

Night Life

4

The night life is very happening the famous market Kamla Nagar market is also located there and student hubs lke vijay nagar and gtb nagar are also located close so the market and te crowd is open till night 8-9 pm. As I don't live in hostel but I heard from my friends that the hostel closing time is 7pm. As kamla nagar market is of walking distance from our college the biggest hanngout place is there and the college canteen and the paratha wale bhaiya outside DRC. The location is a college campus area there are around 8 to 9 colleges in the surrounding so the area is safe and good.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
