Remarks

My admission process was very smooth. I had taken Shaheed Bhagat Singh College in the first cut off and changed to Daulat Ram College in the second list because I always wanted to take in any of the north campus colleges. However, Shaheed Bhagat Singh College was also very good in all terms. I haven't availed any quota since I belong to the general category. For admission in my program i.e. B.Com Hons, the minimum best 4 should be 95% for any north campus colleges. However, for South campus colleges best 4 should be 90% or more.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

My course curriculum includes all the different types of accounting like financial accounting, corporate accounting, cost accounting, management accounting, income tax covering all the finance, audit, tax side. Secondly, we have Generic Elective subjects which can be anything apart from commerce. Hence, we get an opportunity in different field of knowledge. I chose this course because I have an interest in accounts and see this as my future. My college faculty is very knowledgeable, experienced, hard working. I can proudly say that my college is more focused and better in academics as compared to infrastructure or any other factor. Teachers finish the whole course during the classes which are not the same in other colleges. Total Faculty includes 25+ teachers. Term exams were taken according to the university guidelines. The difficulty level was 4/10 since only the teacher's notes were sufficient to clear the examination.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

There are so many internship opportunities being offered by the college in all the profiles for all the courses. Also, every year an internship fair with 50+ companies is organised. I personally did many internships which were offered by college both paid and non paid. The highest stipend is 5000/- per month and the lowest 500/-. Companies like Bajaj Capital, Sharekhan, Money Roller, MBAtrek Pvt Ltd, etc recently came for internship opportunities.

Placement Experience

4.5

There are many recruitment opportunities and placement drives in the college and university. Mostly, students of third year are getting the chance to be part of the drive. In my college, all the top companies have conducted their respective drives like Deloitte, EY, KPMG, PwC, Wipro etc. The total number of offers made varies with different companies. However, 25-30 students were successfully placed. My plans after the degree include going for higher studies or joining a company. I got placed in EY and would like to go for it as well.

Fees and Financial Aid

My college fees for the B.Com Hons program is 16590 per year. There is no scholarship given for general category people. However, I received one for academics excellence. I find my fees justifiable. There is no financial assistance. We are provided with many recruitment opportunities and placement drives with internship opportunities in all the profiles. Yearly, a total of 25-30 students gets placed in various profiles in top companies.

Campus Life

4

Life at the campus is wonderful. We get to make contacts from top colleges, get to share notes, know about different religions from different part of India or even abroad, share food, spend quality time. Every year in March, we go to different college fest with friends and get a chance to meet celebrities. All the books and journals are available in the library. I never faced any difficulty with the availability of books. Classrooms are not that great. Sometimes, we face difficulty in arranging seat or searching for the class but they are slowly developing. Labs are fully equipped with AC and proper tables, chairs, laptops, systems. We have a sports quota during the admission procedure. Only the students who got admitted through that quota are allowed to use sports accessories. Also, they have to devote their full day to the practice which leads to falling in academics. There are many societies/cells in the college which are run by students under the guidance of teachers.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
