NIT Agartala Reviewed By Graduate Student

After JEE Mains, I applied for 2-3 NITs, but I got selected for NIT Agartala Only. There were few criterias for admission. They select you on the basis of JEE rank, but for admission, you need to submit your 12th marks (mainly PCM group). One should have 75% in their 12th examination for admissions. But many a times, upto 70% is also allowed. There are hostel facilities for students who are from outside of Tripura. The students from Tripura can also apply for hostels but the priority is given to the students who are from outside of the state.

My course was ELECTRONICS AND INSTRUMENTATION ENGINEERING (EIE). The faculty members are good and very helpful. They are qualified enough to teach us. But the problem is with the number of teachers. The lack of faculty members is a big issue in this department. There are two exams in a semester, Mid and End terms. The difficulty level of examination depends on the teacher.

One needs to take internships by their own. The number of internships offered or organized by college is limited. The college helps you by providing necessary recommendations, by considering leaves, by considering attendance

Technically from the 5th semester, the students are eligible for placements but practically the opportunity comes across you when you are in the 6th semester. And from the 7th semester, the real placement starts. Companies that came for placement drives are - Exposes, Oracle, IndiaMART InterMESH Ltd., Byjus, AUM Capital, Sunera Tech, DNJ Infotech, HPCL MITTAL ENERGY LIMITED, Allround. club, Revature, Investosure, Cvent, Paytm, Vedanta, FYI Iqunti India Pvt Ltd, Arti, Scaler, etc.

The fee structure directly depends on the student's family's annual income. If the annual income is below 1 lakh, the semester fee lies in between 6-8 thousand. If the annual income is above 1 lakh but below 5 lakh, the semester fee lies in between 20-30 thousand. If the annual income of the student's family is above 5 lakh, the semester fee lies in between 60-70 thousand. There are the various scholarship available, the one I got was Isan Uday (78000 per year)

Almost every cultural program of every state is performing here. Ayom, tech fest, dandiya nights, and many more. Many famous celebrity singers performed at NIT Agartala. The Library of NIT Agartala is huge. In my 4 years of B.Tech, I just bought 3 books in total from the market. NIT Agartala's sports complex is too advanced, it has badminton cort, volleyball cort, swimming pool, gym, table tennis etc. Also, there are few clubs for many social activities, like teaching Childers for free, giving food and clothes to the poor peoples.
