A detailed overview of MSIT Kolkata

I applied for the colleges like Future Institute of Technology, Heritage institute of technology, Netaji Subhash institute of technology. But I got a better opportunity somewhere else so I didn't join those colleges. I didn't apply for any quota. The admission criteria for my college was a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in 10+2 from any recognised school board of India. The admission process was very informative and useful as my college provided a 2-week induction program whose basic purpose was to give us an overview of the whole course which we are going to study for our CSBS course for the next 4 years.

I choose this course because it is a new course and I always wanted to pursue engineering but I also wanted to do a management course as well and Computer Science and the business system seemed like a great opportunity to do both of them at the same time. The faculty to student ratio is 26 Students for 1 teacher. The qualifications of the faculties are high in class as most of them are PhD scholars and they have a minimum amount of 10 years of teaching experience on average. Their teaching method is also very nice as they believe in teaching the students with a practical approach more than a theoretical approach. The term exams occur twice every year as there are 2 semesters each year. On a scale of 1-10, the difficulty level of the exam conducted by my college is around 8 as per my personal opinion.

Companies like Infosys, TCS have offered an internship with a performance-based stipend. Real-life projects with practically enhanced exposures are also offered by companies that visit our campus during placements.

From the 7th semester, students become eligible for campus placements. Companies like TCS, Infosys visited for placements. The highest package offered by the college is 11 lakhs per annum and an average package of 5-7 lakhs is offered by our college every year. Around 90% of the students get placements every year during the placement drives. My plans after getting the degree are to get a good job in a company of my interest in which I can contribute and explore myself.

The fee structure of my college is very reasonable in comparison to other colleges which I opted for as the annual fee amount of my college is around 1 lakh rupees other than that my college also provides scholarships to the students who perform well in academics.

The life at the campus is very good as multiple fests conducted by my college every year. Books and journals are available in the library of our college. Amenities like an indoor auditorium, football ground, food outlets, canteen are available at our campus. Several sports are conducted every year and it is also seen that team also actively participated in every year. It makes the event very familiar. Multiple clubs like a social club, tech club, song club are available to join.
