Remarks

The admission process is smooth and well organized. Admission is based on JEE Main rank. After completing the procedures in Josaa website, we have to fill in details and upload documents in NITC website. We will be provided with a college email id for further updates.

Course Curriculum Overview

There are many highly qualified faculties. Even when a faculty is not available, there will be other substitute faculties. During online semesters, 3 internal evaluations and an endsem exam will be conducted for each semester and the marks of the conducted exams are added. Grades will be provided based on the total marks obtained to calculate the cgpa. The questions are of medium standard with different questions for each student to avoid discussion.

Class Size: 100Course Fees: INR 125000 per year

Internships Opportunities

There are many internship opportunities. Internships start after the second year during the vacation. Internships give students experience in the working field and are very useful. The students should have passed all the subjects to be eligible for internship opportunities.

Placement Experience

Internships are available after the second year and placements start from the third year. A lot of companies visit for placements including Amazon, Maruti, etc. The most number of placements are in the computer science department followed by electronics and communication. The highest package received is 50 lakhs/annum.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are based on the annual income of the parents. If annual income >5 lakhs, fees for 1st sem is 1,37,000 and for 2nd sem is 62,500. If annual income is between 1 lakh and 5 lakhs, fees for 1st sem is 54000 and 2nd sem is 21000. If annual income is less than 1 lakh, fees for 1st sem is 12000 and 2nd sem is 0. The college provides information about all the scholarships available and encourages students to apply for the scholarships.

Campus Life

There are 2 annual fests, Cultural fest Ragam and Technical fest Tathva. Ragam is usually conducted in March and Tathva in September-October. Almost all reference books are available in the library. Events are conducted by clubs almost every week. There are a lot of clubs to join like dance and dramatics club, music club, etc. Also, all sports activities are promoted with tournaments conducted every year.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel is fine. There are a lot of restrictions for girls. Every year students try to protest against these restrictions, There are a few messes providing different food . You can only choose any one mess.

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Is engineering here worth it?

Students are eligible from 7th semester to sit for interviews. The pod.ai app helps us in making the resume and calculating a cgpa to appear for the intwrviews. The pod.ai registration fees is 500?. Companies such as nissan,infosys,commandtech,bimlabs,gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA

I chose this college because of strong reputation , good placements and quality of education. I applied to other NITs and state engineering colleges and received some admissions,but selected this college because I preffered Electrical Engineering. Details Of NITC

I have choosen this college because it is of top 5 NITs and i am getting a good branch. I have apllied for remaining top nits also, but i got this for my jee mains rank( i couldn't make to other top nits because may be of lack of good preperation for jee). When compared to remianing NITs, this college has everything that every other NIT also have, the sports facilities here can be improved. I wanted to get into Mechanical Engineering in any of the top NIT's so applied for all the NIT's in the NIRF ranking order with mechanical in every college so after the counselling happened to get into NIT Calicut. The admission process is through JoSAA Counselling where students come to the college after getting alloted but before that the student needs to clear the JEE Main Exam to get admitted into the college.
