Remarks
I applied for VIT, Vellore but didn't take admission due to massive intake resulting in large batch sizes. I didn't avail any quota. The admissions were based on Class 12th boards and Jee main marks. The admissions and counselling were conducted in online mode due to Covid19.
Course Curriculum Overview
I decided to pursue Computer Engineering due to the massive job market. 1 professor for 100 students approx is the faculty: student ratio. The professors minimum has a Master's degree and many of them have PHDs as well. After a period of 5-6 months and the difficulty of the papers were hard.
Internships Opportunities
Companies like PayTM, Samsung etc visit for summer internships for a period of 6-8 months. The projects and internships help students enhance their skills and improve their resume. Internships are usually provided at the end of 2nd year or the start of 3rd year.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for placements after the 6th or 7th semester. 200+ companies visit including major ones like Microsoft, De Shaw, Atlassian, Amazon etc. The highest packages go upto 40+ Lacs. The average is around 7-8 lacs. 90%+ of students get placed. After the degree currently, I plan to get a Job.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees are a little on the higher side compared to other private colleges like VIT. It would cost around 25 Lacs for the full 4 years course including hostel fees. Although I didn't receive any scholarships, the college provides numerous scholarships including government ones. Educational loans are possible due to the presence of major bank branches on the campus.
Campus Life
They conduct a Frosh week at the starting of the First Year. They also have an annual fest and a food festival and many other technical and non-technical fests throughout the year. The library is really well maintained with around 40k books and 100 journals and provisions for accessing ebooks. The classrooms are upto modern standards being fully air-conditioned and presence of all modern digital aids. Sports facilities are great with the presence of a large synthetic track for running and multiple grounds for outdoor sports. They also have an indoor badminton court and table tennis rooms. Gyms are also present in all the hostels. There are numerous technical and non-technical clubs and societies being run by students eg: Mudra, CCS, MLSC etc.
Hostel Facilities
Rooms are modern with air conditioning and attached washrooms present. Meal quality is great and freshly made with the presence of multiple cuisines. They provide pure vegetarian food. The registration process was a little chaotic considering a large number of rooms. Registration is usually done in online mode. The hostel was a little on the expensive side. There are rooms and PGs available outside campus at cheap rates but they are inferior to the hostels provided.
