An Honest Review

I applied for VIT Vellore but did not apply because it was very far from my home. I did not avail any quota. Admission criteria were based on marks of class 12 and jee score. I got my branch from my jee score. Due to covid our admission and councelling were all online so we didn't go to college for it.

I choose this course because it has better job options and also I had some interest in coding. Thapar has a 1:100 faculty-student ratio. Every faculty member has a minimum master's degree and some also have Phd level degree. Exams are held after a period of 5-6 months and their difficulty level is average.

Big companies like Sandisk, TT, Paytm, Flipkart, etc come each year during the summer semester and offer interships to students for a period of 6-8 months. These interships are available either at the end of the second year or in the mid of third year. Projects done by students in these interships helps to enhance their skills and build their resume which would help them in future jobs.

From 6-7 semesters onwards, students are eligible for applying for campus placements. Over 200+ companies including Microsoft, Amazon, Arcesium, Google, Delloite, etc visit each year for campus placements. Each year the highest package goes around 40 lakh but the average is between 7-8 lakhs. 95% of students get placed each year. As of now, I plan to build my own startup and start a company.

Thapar has a bit more fees when compared to other private colleges . In thapar average academic fees for year is 4 lakh and for 4 years of Btech in Thapar costs around 24-25 lakh. All scholarships approved by the government are provided here and also many scolarships are given on the basis of merit and also Thapar provides education loans.

Thapar has a lot of events like Saturnilia as their main cultural fest and various other tech and nontech events which are held several times in a year. Thapar has one of the best library in-country and also provides 40,000 e-books which can be read online and a lot of journals are available both in oinline and offline mode' All classrooms are well equipped with fully modern facilities and all the are AC classrooms. Thapar has a huge sports ground for each sport. Both indoor and outdoor courts available according to the need of the game. Thapar has a lot of social groups and clubs known as socities which work for both technical and nontechnical work

Thapar has very good hostel facilities. There are both kinds of rooms shared as well as single accommodation with attached toilets in a hostel. The food of the hostel is a mess is just great. All our food is provided with proper hygiene and there is a proper menu created for a week with one sweet dish everyday. Due to covid all the registrations were in online mode and was quite easy. Hostels were given according to the choices made by students. there are many PGs near which are available at cheap rates but their quality is not as good as college hostel.
