Remarks

I am pursuing B.Com (H) from one of the prestigious College of the North Campus of DU. I've secured 93.75 % ( All Best five subjects) in my 12th standard & availed an OBC quota during the addmission in the 4th cutoff in B.Com (H) cousre in which my main four subjects marks has been considered (91.75 %) while the best four subjects has 94.25% including additional subject. The admission process was completely online & I didn't need to visit the college physically at the time of admission. After checking the cut-off & get myself eligible for the admission I visited the college website & submitted the application form available there, when application got verified by the college authorities,I was asked to submit scan copy of my documents (10th marksheet, photo, signature,OBC certificate) & then I submitted the course fee & I secured my addmission . All in all , the entire process was convenient & understandable. I didn't face any problem during the entire process. It was satisfactory.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I had choosen Commerce in my 12th & I want to get placed at Big 4 through college compus as this course has wide range of opportunities & our college provide us with the same. Every year the top most firms come for recruitment to the college & last year a girl got highest package of 18 Lakhs/annum offered by D.Shaw India Pvt Ltd. Placement & Career guidance cell is most active.Teachers are too much cooperative & their teaching methodology is amazing even in the online mode, they focuses more on make students clear with the topic, not in completion of the syllabus. Most of the teaching staff is highly professional in their respective fields as either they're pursuing PhD or have done. The student faculty ratio is satisfactory. The entire year is divided into 2 semesters in which we have final exams at the end of each semester conduct by DU itself. The practical numbers will be given to us on the basis of our assignments, test, and our daily attendance of every subject in each semester.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

As I have mentioned that JEET is the most active, it provides innumerable internship opportunities in learning platform,NPO, Corporates having diversified job profiles like HR, Campus Ambassador, Content Writer, Digital Marketing head, Graphic designer, Social media handler etc . The internship provided is paid or not it depends on the organisation , college provide us with both where we can earn 2000 to 10000per month or it might be unpaid where we ha e to work hard & even then we'll not be paid . Just learn something new.

Placement Experience

5

J.E.E.T.- The Placement & Career Guidance Cell is the most active society of the college .The top most companies (De-Shaw Co., Dell, HCL ,Google , Accenture, Microsoft,TCS & BIG 4 use to come for recruitment for final year &for internship offers for 1st ,2nd year students. Deloitte is one of the top most mass recruit of the college with highest 48 students approx.at a time . 48 in 2018 , 56 in 2019 & 98 students in 2020 got placed in their dream companies & got their dream job . The highest package of 18.5Lakhs /Annum was offered to a girl of B.SC computer science last year and avert pack use to be approx 12-13 Lakhs/Annum .The maximum number of students got placed used to be from Commerce Department , as they have highest opportunities . Students got placed have strong academic background having 85 %+. I'm pretty sure that I'll be palced & settled down through campus placement , otherwise I'll continue with Masters , MPhil and PhD. JEET usually provide internship opportunities to us.

Fees and Financial Aid

Our college provides us with a wide range of scholarships & awards. College provides financial assistance to those students whose annual family income is less than 2.5 Lakhs. College also provides laptop assistance & a book bank facility to needy students, one can ask for a maximum 8 books which one needs to return only after the semester end but for that one should have one's family income less than 2.5 Lakhs /Annum. I've received 50% of my course fee back as a waiver because I had applied for financial assistance & I got benefited by the books bank facility as well. Amidst the Covid -19 , online classes are going on, so I had applied for laptop assistance too & college provided me with the same to the earliest. I'm so glad to be the part of such an elite college that really cares about their students & their needs which they can't fulfill. College provides various scholarships as well on the basis of ECA & Academics. The college has special concerns about visually impaired students (Divyangs).

Campus Life

5

Combiz-Commerce Association conducts various events throughout the year. Annual Day of the department is celebrated enthusiastically by the union & alot more of poetry, writing, photography, dancing, debate, open mic competitions are held. A lot of informative webinars are organized by the department. "Paper Presentation " is a most famous event. We have a huge, convenient &fascinating library, it runs an E-library for the convenience of the students. The whole campus is facilitated by the free wifi access for all & a student can access the college e-library through the college wifi only within the campus. It has a vast store of books ordered systematically. The college infrastructure is superb in every term, classrooms are huge, canteen is awesome, an innumerable games including wall climbing are played in the College having a swimming pool within & playground is very huge & beautiful. It has a hostel within. Students have initiated several successful start-ups & it has various societies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

There is a proper placement cell for this which is very active. Prepare for government exams (SSC, UPSC, etc.) Go for higher education (PG, B.Ed., MBA, etc.) Enroll in skill-based or professional certification courses outside college

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
