Bridge inspection at Roorkee

I always wanted to study at MSIT because it was near to my home and the teaching process is also excellent. This college provides a reasonable fees structure every semester. The admission process is very much simple without any admission tests. For B.TECH courses the minimum percentage at 12th class needs to be above 70%. And age must be under 21 for admission. The counseling was very easy. There was a direct admission through general counseling.

I always wanted to build homes, roads and bridges since my childhood. So, what's a better option than civil engineering!! The faculty members are sufficient to fulfill the needs of every student and the ratio between faculty and students is up to the mark. Most of our faculty members are high degree holders maximum of them are either Ph.D. or M.tech holders. Their teaching methods are very unique and understandable. Each and every topic is covered up by them. There are frequent mock tests arranged by our college to monitor the progress of the students and there are 2-semester exams every year. The results and exams both a happens exactly at the given time. The passing is not a big issue here. If anyone follows the class notes he/she will be easily able to clear up the semester exams.

The college arranges for normal and paid internships. As per the student's choice, they select their internships. The college sends a student to the selected work sector for the training and internship purpose where a student gets a certificate and money paid during internships. Specially TCS Wipro is the main company providing internships with stipends. I went for an internship at Roorkee to a bridge designing site to inspect and learn. I earned a stipend and a merit certificate as well. So, these kinds of things are there!

Many students from our college got placed when they were studying in the 3rd year(6the semester). As per based on their performance and capabilities the college urges the companies to take them into their company for the job and thus many students got their placements beforehand. There are almost all 36companies from different working sectors attached to our college. Popular among them are INFOSYS, WIPRO ,TCS ,MINDTREE, BHEL, SAIL and many more IT sector companies and core companies combined. The average package a student can get is around 28,000-30,000/month from the starting of their career. The highest package which was noted was around 75,000-80,000 per month. Our college has an excellent placement record of around an 80% success ratio. Every year more than 70% of students get placed into the grand tech companies of their choice. My plan is to join any civil-based company to pursue my dreams.

The fees structure here is very simple and reasonable. The college provides every kind of financial assistance to those who need it. There's a separate quota for students where the ones whose annual income is very less they can show their proof and can get scholarships up to Rs 1lac. Our college also gives bounties to students who do exceptionally well during exams. The cost here is just like the other colleges in Kolkata. Or I must say it's a bit cheaper than other engineering colleges. The students who can perform up to the mark are rewarded with job placements here. Just a minimal effort fetches the students their jobs because our college has lots of companies attached with.

Our college always encourages us on social activities and amusements. Every year our college hosts 6-7fests. But grandest of them all is the "Maha fest" which is organized in the auditorium and eminent personalities attend that function. Lots of enjoyments happen and it's really fun. These fests actually happen throughout the year no particular Time is scheduled for that. As far as the library is concerned there is no lack of books be it for engineering or vocabulary or magazines, journals,comics. Everything is available and it's absolutely free of cost. All kinds of modern facilities are available inside the classrooms for ultimate comfortable learning of students. I personally enjoy being a student of this great college. Sports is the second most priority of this college. Every year there is plenty of sports event surrounding football,cricket,volleyball and games for girls are also there as well. There are 4-5clubs in our college which holds different kinds of fun activities
