Remarks

I had applied for few more colleges that are UPES Dehradun for Bcom Hons, BMCC for BCom where I got selected too but when I got selected for Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce, I decided to choose it from them all because of its All India Ranking. The admission was strictly based on merit and cutoffs were released for the admission.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose this course because it was rethought by me to choose this course as I wanted to pursue MBA after it, so I thought Bcom will be better. Faculty: student ratio is good in the college. We have many professors for a single subject that are divided into different divisions. The quality of the professors is also good as they knew English as well as Hindi. Few teachers are good as they make class interactive too. We have sem exams every half year and mid sem exams which are held between the semesters.

Placement Experience

4.5

Yes, our college provides placements for students from the 3rd year onwards. From 3rd year, companies start to approach college. As of I know, Delloite with an average package of around 5-6 lakhs/PA, with an average package of 4.5 lakh/PA, Deutsche Bank with an average package of 4 lakhs/PA, and many more companies visit campus and take interviews for selection. My plan after completing my degree is to either do MBA or do articles for my CA course.

Fees and Financial Aid

If you choose Bcom courses, fees are not that high. For the first year as there are no honors for First-Year students. Fees are around 26000 for the students who take maths as an optional subject and 36000 for the students who take the computer as an optional subject. From second year fees will be based on if you are honors pursuing student or not. If honors persuing students then the fees will be 46000 around and if normal BCom then 26000 around and it is same for the third year also.

Campus Life

3.5

As I took admission in the time of covid, I had all my classes online till date. But there are various cultural fests and annual fest that is organized by the college. Symbiosis is a big name so fests are of course a great moment for all the students out there. I have been to college once to visit it and I have seen the library of the college it is normal but has many books and journals in it. Online too there were conducted sports activities where we had to fill the forms if we want to participate like live gym exercises and running competitions etc.

Placement Experience:

At TCSC placements are quite good as anyone. Even the SOBO colleges and Mithibai don't have placements as good as us. So this is why I always dreamt of studying here because since last 6-7 years, Thakur College placements have gone better and higher.

The good thing is that the college was not strict and was never forcing us to study rather it was seeing to it that it gave us proper advice and help us reach more towards my career goal. The bad part would be there were may staff which was very dull and was not kind, and no importance was given to correct their behaviour although it was evident by all.
