It was very relevant i studied in B.Tech. so an emphasis on research was not very much there. Still, lots of projects were there to get the first-hand experience of research. The students having a flair for research could do as many projects as they wanted /could have managed.

Yes. Lots of companies provide internships to college students with stipends ranging from 5k to 50k in 2007. Almost all the big MNCs come for internship positions.

In 2007, all the students got placed with many students having more than 1 offer Schlumberger - 40 LPA (overseas posting), Lehmann Brothers - 15 LPA, ONGC - 12 LPA, Microsoft - 15 LPA, Google - 15 LPA, Facebook - 90 LPA (overseas posting) total more than 200 companies visited for placements, P.S. - The salary figures are of the year 2007 when i was placed.

Cultural Fest - Thomso, Tech Fest - Cognizance, Sports Fest - Sangram are held at a very large scale involving lots of money. Approximately 500 colleges used to participate in Thomso and Cognizance each. Thomso used to host many bigger events involving live shows of Bollywood celebrities.

During my time, it used to be very feasible as the per semester fee used to be around 30k including mess fess. Nowadays it has increased multifold and has become very expensive. Now the annual fee is around 2 lacs per annum which may not be very feasible to many students.

Highly acute gender ratio. Only 35 girls in my batch of around 550 (B.Tech. batch). Very happening campus life due to numerous options of extracurricular activities available. All the sports facilities like cricket, football, hockey, swimming, athletics, basketball, volleyball, badminton, lawn tennis, table tennis, squash and any other sport you can think of are available having international standards. Hobbies club is there with facilities like robotics, electronics, gardening, philately, etc. Cultural societies like SPIC Macay, Watch out in house magazine, etc.

Hostel facilities were simply the best among all IITs. Very spacious rooms and hostels. Rooms were allotted with single occupancy. Highly spacious corridors. Each hostel was having its own canteen, cyber cafe, TV room, and recreational facilities. Each hostel is also having its own playing ground and greenery. Mess food was also decent.

Senior students were very helpful in guiding each and every aspect of college life. Whenever any help was required, seniors were there to help. Seniors / Alumni were there to help in case of an internship or placement help is required.

Yes, it used to be a very hectic day with lots of labs and regular exams. During a normal 5 day week, 7-8 lab sessions used to be there with 1 session of 2 hours. There was lots of emphasis on the labs' with each lab session having some marks weightage.

Got admission through counselling procedure involving all the IITs after passing through the IIT JEE entrance exam. All the students had to go to the nearest IIT for a counseling procedure and give a list of their preferred IIT / course. Then the college/course would be allocated on the basis of your rank in IIT JEE.

The faculty was highly qualified and experienced. Faculty standards were very high as they were associated with lots of bigger industry projects too. The faculty was highly interested too in teaching as well as in practicals too in the labs. All the practicals were in line with the theory taught in the classes.
