Remarks
I got selected in VIT VELLORE CS Department. But I chose PICT over it because it was closer to my house and provided better opportunities.The minimum percentile required for taking admission in PICT is around 97 percentile for open category. There is no minimum age criteria.
Course Curriculum Overview
I wanted to explore the CS stream from the beginning so I joined this program. The faculty: student ratio in PICT is good and is around 1:7. All the teachers are well equipped and have complete knowledge of the subjects they are teaching. The exams were difficult as compared to the SPPU endsem exams, but that is expected from a college of such repute.
Internships Opportunities
There are a lot of internship opportunities available at PICT. One can apply from the first year itself if he has the skill and knowledge to crack the examination. Sppu also provides a lot of internship opportunities.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible from the 7th semester for placements. Most of the big tech companies visit PICT. The highest package offered is more than 40 lakhs. The avg package for CS is 10 lakhs. PICT has record placements of more than 90%. I plan to go for an M.Tech degree after completion of the course.
Fees and Financial Aid
PICT is of the cheapest engineering colleges across India. The annual fee is 100000 including all extra costs. There are no scholarships available. Once you take admission there are no fee hikes from that point on.
Campus Life
I have to say PICT has a really small campus, but life at PICT is at par with other engineering colleges. Addiction is the annual fest of PICT. There a lot of technical fests conducted in college. A large and updated collection of books is available for students. There is no dedicated ground for sports in PICT. This is one of the drawbacks. There are a lot of Non-tech clubs in PICT.
