Remarks

I was not able to get in delhi university with a good course. So I applied for CET for economics honors and I found VIPS to be the best among the options I have. You can find a good crowd here. The teaching environment is also very good as compared to others. Teachers here are so supportive and will help you every time you ask for. This is the only college in GGSIPU which organises a fest "SPANDHAN" which is a pleasure to attend. The campus has well maintained canteen which is managed by an app made by Vipsians. You can really have new ideas and initiate them here in the college itself. Everyone's thought and ideas are given equal importance which is a very valid point I prefer this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Economics has always been a demanding course and getting in IP is fair enough as the syllabus taught is same. The faculty and student ratio is 15:300. The faculty members are post graduated or phd holders from DU or some renowned colleges. The exams are held twice a semester. Once for internal assessment that is for 25 marks and then at the end of semester for 75 marks. It is easy to score good marks for an average student.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Various companies like sherkhan, eatmynews visit our college for providing internships. The stipend vary according to the work profile and can range upto 10000 a month. You can find a variety of work profiles in finace, tech, marketing, HR, education and many more.

Placement Experience

4.5

Froom end of 3rd semester ypu can appear for placements opportunities provided by the college. Major portion of fintech companies visit the college and will shortlist students on basis of their aptitude test, interview and GD. Approx 6 out of every 10 students get the placements in the companies they want.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees for economics honors is approximately 1lpa. It is higher when compared to colleges like DU but the course is worth spending. Not everyone can make it for DU so you can choose this as an alternative. Also the university provide two scholarship schemes. One is EWS in which scholarship is provided on economic background of the child. Second Merit cum means scholarship which is given to meritourious student whose family income is below 6lpa.

Campus Life

4.5

There is an annual fest of university which is conducted in our college from years. Apart from this we have fests and events from all the courses. Almost 5 or 6 events are held in the premisis every month including ethnic days. The classrooms are well equiped with digital class, fully AC and other basic amenities. There are several groups you can be a part of like Arthvidya, vyom-the cultural society etc.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

As of now there is no hostel facilty provided by the college but you can get a flat or PG nearby. The locality around is very good for renting. There are several places for outing and you can hang out on weekends.

Interview Experience

5

There is no interview or Gd round post written test. You only have to appear for CET that is their university selection test for all the colleges. Bases your ranks in the entrance test you will be allotted colleges. The test is not so difficult and if you have your interests in he subject you can easily clear it without major coaching and practising.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
